There is a universal law that says "you can only earn what you become". Every now and then, the forces of momentum or just random chance propel a person's income beyond their personal growth - but then the next universal law comes into play "a fool and his money are soon parted".
The key to finding (and keeping) financial freedom, especially in network marketing, is personal development. Go to work on yourself, and almost magically, your business/income expands!

Three Ways to Build Your Network Marketing Organization
1) There are MANY ways to build a successful organization
2) They are all WORK - you must treat this as a business
3) Unless you have very strong personal drive and motivation - you should work the program/system your upline is teaching. If you don't like it, get a new upline.
Okay - that aside, here are three proven methods:
Treat Your Business as a Marketing Business
While classified ads, card decks, etc, may have SOME success - a true marketing campaign builds a funnel. This funnel is a system where 'leads' are dropped in the top, and out the bottom, several steps later, you have someone ready to go to work. A good system is completely automated until the final step - where you can step in and 'allow' the person to join you.
This type of network marketing is masterful and purposeful. It takes planning and some set up. The best 'ready in a box' and generic marketing system I've seen is here: MLM Traffic Formula.
Warm Market Blast
This is the tried and proven "warm market" approach. There is really only ONE way to make this work, and it is very effective. Unfortuneately, many people try this approach and miss the key element - then blame the opportunity, upline, company, industry, whatever for their failure. Here is the Key:
YOU HAVE TO GO HOT AND HEAVY for 30 to 90 days. If you just dabble, and expose a half dozen or so people, you will not get any excitement, momentum, or 'juice' flowing. To make this approach work you need to:
1) Make a list of at least 100 people
2) Select a 'sorting tool' (dvd, website, etc)
3) Get Excited in your communication
4) Prepare a very short script
5) Blast through your entire list in one week or so
When you are contacting this many people, several things happen.
* Rejection by one doesn't effect you much
* You don't have time to mess it up with too many words
* You rely on tools
* You build momentum
The great thing about this approach, is that it is very inexpensive. Just sit down and make a list. If your sorting tool is online, or a recorded phone call, you don't even have an investment in tools.
Another great thing about this approach is that you can start over and do another 'blast' at anytime during the life of your business.
Cold Calling Opportunity Leads
I personally know a couple millionaires - who started with nothing - and made their fortune on the phone, with opportunity leads.
If you simply must stay away from your warm list, and you are not afraid to spend a couple hours a day on the phone - you might be a candidate for calling opportunity seekers.
A good lead company (like Cutting Edge Media) can provide you with scripts, training, and leads. It is then up to you to be disciplined enough to call enough people.
Here are two things to keep in mind with this approach:
1) It is a numbers game - expect to make 1000's of calls
Think of it this way though - If I offered you $1 million dollars to talk 1000 people on the phone, would you do it? Considering that 4 out of 5 people may not be home when you call, you may have to dial that telephone 5000 times! It would be worth it though wouldn't it?
2) Improving your skills is a must
Practice is vital, and you must jump in. But it is equally important to dedicate time every week to learning new skills. Improve your script, your tone of voice, your listening skills, and you can drastically reduce the number of contacts you need to make. Listen to tapes, read books, and practice, practice, practice.
