The problems facing the Home Based Business Industry 

Common Misconceptions Surrounding the Roadmap to Riches Program 

1. They're saying: It's a pyramid scheme, and pyramid schemes are illegal.
   
   The truth: Roadmap to Riches is actually a direct sales business, not MLM or network marketing. As distributors, we don't have to rely on work done by our downline to make sales. We're also able to get 100% commissions, as opposed to just a smaller percentage of the sale.
   
   Generally, pyramid schemes do not focus on a stand alone product, but rather recruiting new members to earn. However, our Personal Success Center is a stand along retail product. Both distributors and customers can benefit from a simple 1-way transaction, as opposed to having to recruit new members in order to maintain income.
   
   The 2 up system is set in place merely to help distributors maximize their earnings, should any of their customers wish to become resellers of the program. In this system, 2 "training" sales are passed up to the sponsor in order for the new member to become a full qualified sponsor themselves. Because the sponsor assists in the gaining of leads and closing of sales during the training period with the new member, they are awarded the first 2 sales. This is not to take advantage of new members, but simply acts as part of the training process.
2. They're saying: There are no real products. The products can be found elsewhere online for cheaper prices, or for free. Therefore, they are worthless.
   
   The truth: The value of any product is in the eye of the beholder. Just because one person doesn't not benefit from something, or sees little value in it, does not make a product worthless. Those who are interested in personal development, bettering themselves through positive thinking and goal-setting, and those who are looking for a positive way to earn an income from home will greatly benefit from what Roadmap to Riches has to offer. Those who are not interested in these things wouldn't see those benefits.
   
   It is true that you can find these or similar products online, many for cheaper prices or free. However, it isn't individual products that we're selling. Roadmap to Riches provides a comprehensive success center, including over 30 downloadable audio courses and study guides, as well as on-call life-coaching, group support, the opportunity to start and run a lucrative home based business, and expert marketing training to get that business off the ground. These are benefits you wouldn't receive from buying an individual product. Many who make this argument fail to look at the bigger picture.
3. They're saying: It's a get-rich-quick scheme. The members involved will take your money and run.
   
   The truth: The Roadmap to Riches program has some of the most helpful mentors in the home based business industry. There is ample support given, including 1-on-1 training, and even exclusive marketing tools. Most of the distributors freely provide their contact information, and are present and available on many forums on the topic of Roadmap to Riches. I personally have received excellent support from my sponsor. We talk several times a day. I've done the same for my team members in the other opportunities I've been involved in, and do the same with this one as well. There will always be some bad apples in the bunch, no matter what business, and regardless of whether it's internet-based or other. The best advice I can give is to research the person you're thinking of joining with. Ask as many questions as you can. Even ask for proof of their claims if you feel it necessary. Do as much research on the sponsor as you would on the program itself. When you've covered all of your bases, you can't go wrong!
4. They're saying: These types of programs aren't approved by the government, and many get shut down by the FTC. So will Roadmap to Riches and all the others like it.
   
   The truth: The FTC (Federal Trade Commission) does not approve of internet-based businesses that do not provide a legitimate product to customers (an actual product, either digital or physical that passes from the company to the customer), nor do they approve of systems which are created just to make money, with no protection for the buyer. Roadmap to Riches does not fall under those categories. We offer a full suite of products which each customer has access to immediately once they've paid the distributor, and which they can download at their own leisure. The FTC does approve of digital products (hence mp3 dowloads, software downloads and more). Also, a customer is not forced to participate in the affiliate program, nor are they "joining" the affiliate program when they pay for the product. They can simply enjoy the products they've purchased, download all or as many as they like, and cancel the monthly subscription (which goes toward maintaining the back office where the digital products are kept until downloaded). There is no additional charge to become an affiliate, and it is not required to purchase the product to be an affiliate either.
   
   There is nothing illegal about an affiliate program. Companies create affiliate structures all the time to help spread the word about their products while rewarding those who are referring new customers. Roadmap to Riches does the same thing, only on a grander scale!
5. They're saying: You have to have prior experience in home based business, or a huge advertising budget, to success. These high-ticket programs aren't for newbies.
   
   The truth: You do not have to have prior experience. That's why there is support given and training provided. We cater to all levels of skill, not just seasoned entrepreneurs.
   
   Also, there is no need for a huge advertising budget. While some funds should be set aside for advertising, there are plenty of low-cost and free methods of advertising that are proving very effective for our members. A good sponsor will have a marketing system already set in place to assist new members, and should also be able to recommend some great free and low-cost advertising venues.
   
   On a personal note, I started this business up with $50. I put in effort, and used the marketing knowledge that I've gained over the years to bring about success with Roadmap to Riches. I'm passing on the same knowledge to my new team members, so that we all succeed!
6. They're saying: Roadmap to Riches and similar programs have no longevity. They won't be around in a year or two.
   
   The truth: Because of its products and the industry which they fall under, the Roadmap to Riches program will be around for a good long while! Personal development is something that anyone can benefit from, not a select group. Though the market has ups and downs, it never fades out like some markets or industries. The important thing is that we're providing a product that is in high demand, and which there will always be a demand for, as people are always looking for ways to better themselves.
7. They're saying: The marketing for Roadmap to Riches and programs like it is already saturated. There is no money let in these businesses, and no benfit to newcomers.
   
   The truth: There are literally billions of people in this world, and thousands are coming online for the first time each day. It is said that someone joins a home based business every 11 seconds. At that rate, and with that kind of demand, there is no way that anyone can acquire all of the business there is. One person can't handle 1000 team members (not if they're doing their duty and providing personalized, individual training and support). Therefore, there is more than enough business for all of us.
