Do you eBay?
Thanks for stopping by! My name is Jenn and I am a stay at home/work at home mom with a beautiful 5 year old daughter. I can tell you first hand what it is like to be a new mom, wanting to stay home with a new baby. Going from a comfortable 2 income household, to a not so comfortable 1 income household with a new baby in the mix. Having the passion, and the desire to make it work, I went from using eBay as a hobby - to making it my source of income. With that same passion, I have worked at being able to pay my daughters' way through Kindergarten.
A one income family is not easy these days and I assure you there have been times when I wanted to throw in the towel and head back out into the corporate world. If it wasn't for my drive to stay home and make it work, I would have done just that. Check out what has helped me become so successful.
Making it Work
eBay is HUGE! I have been a member since 2000. I started out buying hard to find items for our hobby restoring my husband's 64 Fairlane. Suddenly, I found myself in corporate cutbacks, laid off and also 7 months pregnant! Well, I took the opportunity to stay home and haven't looked back!I get asked all the time how I have been able to stay at home all this time. The economy is at a rough spot, and it's not easy to survive on one income. It's been over 6 years since my daughter was born and now, I have a 7 month old baby.
I started out selling on eBay by purging things from around the house. Books, games, vintage appliances, gently used clothes, car parts - you name it! If it pretty much wasn't nailed down, I was seeing if I could sell it! It's the typical eBay addiction.
Develop and run your own Trading Assistant Business.
When I first started out, I developed a pretty nice Trading Assistant customer base for a couple of summers. It was a lot of work, and a lot of seeking out inventory for a percentage of the final selling price. I found really good people with really nice items to sell. That helped supplement my income.Just be sure you have the space to store their items. It's important to have the items for accurate descriptions and answering any questions potential buyers will have. Being a Trading Assistant is also an excellent way to learn what sells and what doesn't. It lets you get your hands on a wide variety of merchandise. For me, the extra income went towards new merchandise to sell. Which, I stocked in my eBay store. After learning a lot from selling for others, I no longer offer a percentage of the final selling price. Instead, I offer a set price per item and purchase it outright. That way I can list at my leisure and name my own pricing.

Find YOUR Passion
I found that my passion developed in selling clothing and it was there I found boutique clothing. I used the profits from my sales to build up my boutique and high end designer inventory. Within a year, I had a pretty nice selection, with hardly any investments.I was able to pay for Private Kindergarten. Which, in this town, is not cheap! At the time is was $180.00 a week (ouch!). Yes, our town doesn't offer full time Kindergarten...so it was private school. I'm sure tuition will go up as it has every year. I am proud that I am able to support her and still do the extra things that we enjoy on my own time, being my own boss.
