Sudden Ear Ringing: Precautionary Action and Common Causes
Tinnitus is the medical term but most people would refer to it as ear ringing. Tinnitus normally is never a serious problem or never a matter of life and death problem. But when it became a symptom of a certain underlying ailment that is where it becomes a life threatening symptom and I am referring to it as a symptom of high blood pressure.
The location of ringing of the ears is usually in the inner ear especially if the main cause is exposure to loud sounds. Ringing of ears can also be in the outer and middle ear. Loud noises are primary reason of most tinnitus. Alarms, loud music, gun shots are not so friendly with your ears and hearing sense. Stress is the least known cause of ear ringing but is one of the causes of ear ringing. Aging, medication, fluid build-up and medications are common causes of sudden ear ringing.
What do you think you should do when you hear a sudden ear ringing?
Assess what you did within 24 hours that may cause the sudden ear ringing. If you went to a concert a night before or to any activity that has exposed you to a loud and deafening sound then you know that it might be the cause of your sudden ear ringing. It will go away after 2 or a few days. You have to let the hair cells heal of the injury they acquired as they receive a loud sound beyond their normal capacity.
But if you did nothing of sort; then assess again if you have any history of ailments that has symptoms associated with tinnitus. Have you suffered from high blood pressure; has done some dental procedures recently, had head injury, or in a medication? If none then wait for a few days and try to see if it will go away but if you had some of these causes then it is a side effect.
You should consult a doctor if it is related with high blood pressure or with a medication. If it is in twined with pain the more that you should consult your local doctor.
