Foods Without Refined Sugar - Sugar Ain't Good, Sweetie!

Here's What I Think About Refined Sugar - Live Without It!

A sweet taste in my mouth is good for my soul - it's a comforting and satisfying experience. When I use refined sugar for this feeling I'll have a "sugar rush" followed by a down in energy and mood. Trying to recapture my good mood with more refined sugar will lead to an even lower "down" and, eventually, to a sugar addiction.

White sugar has been proven to be very harmful to our bodies. In this lens, you'll find several scientific references on that subject. We're looking for foods without refined sugar!

The good news is, there are great natural sweeteners available without any of the damaging qualities of refined sugar. Agave nectar, the pure juice from agave plants is one of them. Look here for good information on the fact that "sweet is good, sugar - but sugar ain't, sweetie!".

Yes, you're right!

Miranda Adria says:

I agree. HOWEVER, corn syrup (high fructose corn syrup included) is not as bad or unhealthy as people believe it is. In moderation, yes, it is actually okay to consume. This is to say that you still need to pay attention to the ingredients of the food and food products you buy, so that you don't overdo your consumption of it. Regardless, I still feel it is best to remove all sugars from your diet.

anmatt says:

I'm definitely with you on the refined sugar being poison. We have to avoid it in my family. I'm not a fan of Agave nectar, and would recommend you take a more critical look at it. I posted a link to an article on the Weston Price Foundation website about the problem with agave nectar on the post links to disprove my point module.

tandemonimom says:

Sugar is very bad for you, and high fructose corn syrup even worse, but any artificial sweetener is just sweet death. Raw honey and stevia are my natural sweeteners of choice; I will use small amounts of sugar when those just won't do, but very rarely.

Margo_Arrowsmith says:

I have just been treated for the itching on my skin, which comes from the candida created by sugar!

richard_wheeler says:

Sugar also creates zits on your face as well as it's fattening!

richard_wheeler says:

I agree with you! Sugar is hard to break up. Which is why I have used frutose instead of sugar for the past ten years.

bygproductions says:

I eat my fair share of sugar, but wish I could eat less. I use stevia to sweeten my tea.

KimGiancaterino says:

Natural is the only way to go. Artificial sweeteners may be low on calories, but they still pack on the pounds.

Marbar says:

Absolutely 100% Correct and I like the nectar idea.

No way, Monkeybrain!

bdkz says:

I love sugar but would welcome a good natural alternative!

Victoria_Neely says:

Sure, I appreciate naturally sweet things and understand that sugar can mess with you, but I like a little sugar anyway. :) What I don't care for are the artificial sweeteners. I tried a vanilla yogurt recently that had an artificial sweetener, and it had a funny aftertaste.
