Sugarless Diets: The Answer To The Sugar Epidemic
There is a sugar epidemic sweeping North America, killing more people than any war. Obesity and diabetes are literally changing the way we look, and how our bodies function.
We are poisoning our cells with sugar and processed foods so that they are unable to optimally communicate with each other.
Refined sugars are the number one toxic agent contributing to cell membrane break down. Sugar has no nutritional value, but the body has to do something with it.
So what does it do?
It stores it in cells, usually right around the middle of the body!!

Sugar: How It Can Affect Your Health
Why aim for a sugarless diet?
There are many, many ways in which sugar undermines your health.
Here are half a dozen ways:
1. Blood glucose spikes and plummets when sugar is consumed.
How can this effect you?
It can lead to mood swings, fatigue, headaches and cravings for more sugar.
2. Sugar increases the risk of:
* obesity
* diabetes
* heart disease
Also studies are linking high sugar diets to cancer.
3. Sugar interferes with immune function.
Bacteria and yeast feed on sugar and when these organisms are out
of balance then infection and illness is more likely.
And with all the talk about H1N1 flu you want to keep your immune system
strong.

4. A chromium deficiency often results from a high sugar diet.
Sugar will rob chromium from foods that do supply chromium. Chromium's function is to regulate blood sugar.
5. Sugar accelerates aging.
How?
Sugar contributes to sagging skin. After sugar hits the bloodstream it attaches itself to proteins. These new molecular structures contributes to loss of skin elasticity.
6. Sugar causes tooth decay.
Sugar causes more decay than any other food.

Sugarless Diets Are Your Best Option
Sugar: The Epidemic That Is Killing North America
Refined sugar, which is not just white sugar, but all the processed food is changing the way our bodies look and function.Very simply cell membranes are under stress due to poor eating habits. Eating poorly gives us poor energy and provides poor fuel for our cells. Cell membranes are: oxidized, inflamed, lacking in energy and toxic due to the amount of sugar consumed.
Too Much Sugar: What Is The Result?
Disease is the result. Sugar results in: obesity, diabetes, heart disease, high cholesterol, high blood pressure,strokes, constipation, ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder), joint inflammation, arthritis and pain. High sugar comsumption inflames the body and creates and aggravates many diseases.Disease is starting with our children. Our children's generation will be the first one in the history of the world to live less than the preceding generation.
Sugarless Diet: The Solution
Well it is simple, it may not be easy, but it is simple. We will never solve this epidemic until we adopt policies and marketing practices that stop providing people with processed food. Also people need to educate themselves about the food going into their mouths.The Mediterranean diet is a great solution: whole grains, olives, nuts, fish, fruit, vegetables, lemons, garlic, onions, cruciferous vegetables.

How to Lick the Refined Sugar Addiction
Overfed and Undernourished
There are several factors that contribute to making North American diets very poor diets.
First, many people are addicted to refined/processed foods, especially sugar.
Second, food industries that process food intentionally add addictive substances, like high fructurose corn syrup to increase consumers' addiction.
