Fun at Sugar Valley and Nearby
Sugar Valley Lakes is a recreational area in Linn County, Kansas that's restricted to those owning lots or homes there. There are several lakes with camping, fishing, and boating. It's an area that's more wooded and rolling than most of eastern Kansas. It's a short drive south of Kansas City.
In the area around Sugar Valley Lakes, there are quite a few recreational opportunities. I'll feature a number of those here plus the activities at Sugar Valley Lakes as well.

Advantages of Buying a Prairie Lot at Sugar Valley Lakes
There are fewer and fewer waterfront lots available for building on at Sugar Valley Lakes Resort. Lake lots can cost $15,000 to $25,000 in the area. Prairie lots are available for less than $500. The annual fee is the same for either type of lot and the use of the community is the same. With a prairie lot you won't have a waterfront view or a place to build your own dock for your boat.
The prairie lots sell for very modest prices and allow the owners to use all the amenities of the Sugar Valley Lakes resort. That means you can become a member of the golf course, launch a boat to fish or water ski on the lake, use the tennis courts, pool, etc.
Usually on a prairie lot, the taxes are around $5 a year, and the annual fee for the resort is less than $150. If you live in the south-central Kansas area, it's a modest cost for the amount of recreation you can enjoy there.
This Lake Lot Just Sold
Only a few left on Sugar Valley Lake
Many of the lots around the lake are already built on, so if you want to be on the "big lake" then start shopping. Check list just below on this webpage to see if any are listed. Check the Kansas City Craigslist. Check at the Sugar Valley Lakes office where they maintain a card file of lots for sale by owners. Look on the bulletin board there as well.

- Enjoy your summers on the lake, only an hour south of Overland Park! We have the BEST 2 LAKEFRONT LOTS left on Sugar Valley Lake for sale. The view of the lake, and access to the lake is magnificent!! They are Lot 17&18 on the northern shore. $65,000 for both lots, will not sell separately. Please call me at 816-682-5590 to inquire.

- I am selling Lot 9 Plot 20. I am asking 500 or might barter for something of equal value. My husband and I really enjoyed the fishing and taking our boat ther over the years. I am now older and it is time for someone else to enjoy it!

- Sugar Valley Lakes Linn County, Kansas- Lot for Sale Plat 43A Lot 64. Call Richard at 816-779-5977. Lake lot with club house, golf course, swimming pool, etc, taxes (only about $10 a year) and the Homes Association assessment ($144.00 a year), If you are a camper, you can camp on the lot or in the campgrounds from April to October, if you are a golfer, the greens fees are minimal??it's a great piece of land for little price. The lot is totally undeveloped, no electricity, no water, etc. however there are no trees to have to get rid of, mowing done by the lake's Homes Association and there is an electric pole near the lot. - I realized after posting the previous message that people who do not want to sign-up for Facebook will not see the info regarding Plat 38 Lot 66 for sale. So if I may, I would like to share some of that info here:
The lot is 130' x 67' located at 8 W Sugar Lake Dr NW and is just 1 lot away from the lake. There are no trees on the lot and it is undeveloped. The boat ramp is about 1 block away from the property.
