Summer is the party season and there's nothing quite like a cocktail to get the celebrations underway. Of course, if you're planning a party, drinks are the first thing on the shopping list. The big question is: What do I buy? There are many different recipes out there, with even more ingredients, so here are few suggestions to make the decision just a little easier.
If you're looking to add something new to your usual party drinks list, you might want to add some Bliss - a simple name for an easy-to-make cocktail. Simply put ice into a tall glass and then pour in 30 ml of Midori, followed by 30 ml of Paraiso Lychee Liqueur. Top it up with equal parts of cranberry juice and orange juice. Stir the contents to mix and place a piece of tropical fruit on the edge of the glass for the finishing touch.
If you're enjoying the fruity theme, a good suggestion would be Midori Punch - the perfect punch for any summer party. The fruit takes enough of the tartness out of the pineapple juice to create a balanced, refreshing drink - and enough to serve 15 to 20 people. You'll need 500 ml of Midori, 750ml of Sparkling Wine, one litre of unsweetened pineapple juice, two cups of chopped fresh fruit, four to five strawberries poured over about five scoops of ice in a large punch bowl.
You can also try the Melon Pepper Martini. Simply add 30 ml Midori, 30 ml Vodka, 5ml Lemon juice, and 4-5 chunks of honey dew melon into a cocktail shaker and muddle (smash it all up with a stick), then add ice and shake. Then, strain the mix into a martini glass and add some cracked pepper.
If you want to get the New Year off to an interesting start, be a little spontaneous and try something new and mix things up a little. Just remember, drinking doesn't mix with driving. So ensure your ensure your guests enjoy themselves responsibly and get home safely.
