Beauty Tips : Summer Makeup

Pink is in for summer, which is great since pinks perk up every skin tone. All shades of pink from the faintest blush to the brightest fuschia are perfect for the summer makeup and fashion. Nude makeup worn with pink lipstick and pink cheeks are perfect for your summer look.

For summer, sun protection is more important than ever. The UV rays from the sun can cause skin cancer. These are not to be taken lightly. Go for at least SPF15 for your sun protection. SPF30 sunblocks are even better. Forget about getting a tan. If you must have that summer glow, use a self tanner.

Whether you wear foundation or a tinted moisturizer, go for one with a sunscreen. You need all the sun protection you can get in summer so go for sun protection in all your beauty products.

Don't neglect your lips. They have no protection from the sun and can burn. Make sure your protect your lips with a lip balms, lip gloss or lipstick with spf.

Nothing spoils your look faster than runny mascara. At the beach, or with water play, ordinary mascara would wash off, leaving ugly smears on your face. Under the summer heat, all that sweat is likely to cause runny mascara. Tears of joy, of sorrrow or from watching a sad movie can cause your mascara to run. Don't take any chances. Go for waterproof mascara. Likewise, kohl eyeliner can smudge badly when you sweat. Go for a waterproof eyeliner instead.

Actually, sweat can really mess up all your makeup. Even your foundation and powder, if you use those, can be washed off by your sweat. If you swim, then you can forget about your powder staying on either. If you really must wear makeup, wear a waterproof makeup that would last in spite of your sweat and your water activities. You could dab on a waterproof concealer in a color that matches your skin exactly to cover your blemishes and the dark rings under you eyes.

For lips that stay pretty, even in the water, instead of lipstick, line and color your lips with a waterproof lip pencil. Slick on a colorless lip gloss over it for the shimmer.

At bedtime, remove waterproof makeup with cotton pads soaked in baby oil or makeup remover for waterproof makeup.

1. After washing and drying your face, apply tinted moisturizer in your skin tone all over your face with your finger tips.


2. When the moisturizer is absorbed into your skin, dust on loose powder with a large powder brush.


3. Apply eyeshadow over your eyelids. If you are using a single shade, pick a warm brown or rosy beige that is close to your coloring. You could highlight your eyes with a light pink.


4. Use a pencil eyeliner in brown or black to draw a fine line on your upper lash line, from inner to outer corner of your eyes.


5. Apply one coat of mascara from the base of your lashes to the tips. Do that for your upper lashes only.


6. Apply blusher on the apples of your cheeks for that rosy glow. Pick a soft pink or a bronze for a natural look.

2. Apply eyeshadow. Pick 3 colors. A medium shade that brings out your eye color, a dark shade for the crease and a pale shimmer or metallic for the highlight.


3. Put on eyeliner and draw on the line with the dark eyeshadow using a fine brush so that the color would last.

5. With a large brush, dust over your forehead, the tops of your cheeks, tip of your nose and the tip of your chin with a shimmery blush


6. Slick on your lipstick. If your eyes are smoky, lips could be in a peachy or nude color. Or you could go all out sexy with red lipstick.
