Midnight sun with lilacs
The sun never sets and the smell of lilacs is in the air. In Sweden we have lilacs in different colours. The deep blue ones are cultivated but the smooth purple once are often growing wild. I love the smell of lilacs. That is summertime for me when it is at its best - midsummer when day and night merge.
Where I lived for many years we also had white lilacs. They were a little bigger than the others and were glowing in the dusk.
Midnight lilacs in Sweden
You can watch the sun all night and smell the lilacs
Up north in Sweden for some weeks in June, you can acually watch the sun all night long. The light is so beautiful and you can see how the sun make a "touch down" and rise again. In Sweden there are many lilacs in these weeks. I love that smell and the colours are white, deep purple or really soft blue.Where I lived close to Stockholm, I could sit and read a book 10PM under our lilacs :)
