Summer is Fun...Until You're Bored!

The summer is a time full of activity. It is a great time to swim, to hike, to bike, to run, to ride horses, and the like. Most people find that they can spend their summer sitting around doing nothing, or they can really get into the summer and the activity of it and get involved. Of course, a summer camp is a great way to help your kids stay active and have fun this summer. Instead of sitting around trying to think up things to do, they will have a plethora of activities available to them.

There Are at Least Three Benefits of Summer Camp

The top three benefits of summer camp

Swimming off a pier, roasting marshmallows, making lanyards...summer camp has it all.and the many activities that your kids get to participate in while at summer camp are as follows:

1. Keeps them active. One of the biggest things with summer activities and summer camps is just getting kids off the couch, or away from the computer so that they can live a healthier lifestyle. It is not bad to enjoy television or internet surfing occasionally, but that is not what their whole summer should consist of. A summer camp gives them the perfect opportunity to do something besides sit around all summer. They can play volleyball with a group of kids, or swim, etc. Most summer camps are all about moving from one fun activity to the next, which means your kid will be on the go, and will be staying active. This is great for them. In addition, it makes the adjustment back to school, and a busier schedule much easier because they didn't spend their whole summer sleeping in until noon or later, but actually got up and played, had fun, and got moving.

2. Lets them socialize. One of the benefits of summer camp for kids of all ages is the social factor. It helps keep them in the social loop, and allows them to better develop social skills in different atmospheres. They learn how to act socially acceptable in more situations, and thus have more versatility than just in school. They might make a friend, for example, that does not live in their school boundaries, and then they have to determine how much value to put on that friendship, as it will take more work than the typical friendship does. It is a great set of skills and experiences for any kid to have. Plus, kids want to hang out with their friends, so it will make the learning, and the practicing, and the skill development that is also part of summer camp, more enjoyable for them.

3. It is fun. The top reason to send your kid to summer camp to enjoy the many activities offered is simply because it is so much fun. Kids love it, and you may enjoy your time with out them as well.
