Backcountry Skiing

Ranked #40,791 in Sports & Recreation, #933,563 overall

Howdy,

So you like to ski in the backcountry me too.  Don't get me wrong I ski the resorts in Utah all the time but my most rewarding days are spent in the backcountry. I will try to make this a great resource for backcountry skiing knowledge but if you follow the links below your enlightenment will begin

New Link List Module

Mountain Weather and Avalanche Info
The Utah Avalanche Forecast Center tracks avalanches and conditions which keeps me safe when backcountry skiing. This also the best mountian weather source. All the avalanche centers in North America are listed.
Local Utah Ski Hero Andrew McLean
Andrew is an amazing athelete and has skied some of the steepest chutes in the world. His site is loaded with amazing photography.
Backcountry.com's Blog
Full disclosure I work for Backcountry.com but the blog is non comercial and has great adventure content.
Telemarktips.com--The Telemark and Backcountry Skiing Webzine--
A telemark skiing and backcountry webzine with new content daily, videos, lessons, gear reviews, the World Famous Telemark Talk Forum, and much more.
Excellent Backcountry Skiing Phtography
Not sure why photographers build 100% flash sites but this is one of them so I am sure nobody but folks Matt knows have been there. If you click on the word Journal in the bottom right of the screen you will be treated to some of the most amazing backcountry ski photos anywhere. Better yet if you backcountry ski in Utah you will notice he has skied some of the toughest lines around.
