Summer Sunbathing Thriller Novels

The most popular genre out there nowadays is the thriller novel. The following are four of my suggestions that I think you should pick up this summer and read because they are all unbelievable stories that are not matched anywhere else on the market. All include some sort of government corruption, religious fanatics, and stealthy espionage. These authors do a good job at keeping you at the edge of your seat, and I can promise that you will remain there for the duration of the novel. I hope you enjoy these books as much as I did, and have a great summer.

If you like conspiracy theories, then this is the book for you. It is a very well written novel about how Washington's insiders fight to control the most important natural resource known to mankind: water. Assassinations, betrayal, and conspiracy are commonplace in this novel, and if that is your favorite kind of entertainment, then you definitely need to get this book.

The Twelfth Imam by Joel C. Rosenberg

This book is about a United States CIA operative named David Shirazi who is sent to Iran to disrupt their nuclear program without leaving American fingerprints on his dirty work. Iran's president has sworn to annihilate the US and Israel, and there are rumors swirling of an Islamic messiah claiming to be gaining a following as a healer, but also a predictor of a terrible war bringing the End of Days. Shirazi tries to save the US by figuring out a way to delay Iran's attempt to bring about the end and give us a chance to bring about peace through negotiations and not bloodshed. This is one of the best espionage thrillers out there, so I definitely suggest giving it a look.

The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown

One of the most popular thrillers of all-time, if you haven't read it yet, you must get around to it this summer. It is a great story that mixing religion, science, detectives, politics and corruption. It has everything you need and more to keep you hooked, and definitely will prompt you to read the books that came before and after it about the same symbologist and iconologist, Robert Langdon.

American Assassin by Vince Flynn

The latest installment to the multitude of books written about Mitch Rapp, a fictional CIA superagent who is driven by the death of his high school sweatheart in the bombing of Pan Am Flight 103. This book is about his early years after leaving Syracuse University when he first was recruited to join the CIA and his attempts to stop terrorism before it reaches the shores of the United States.
