Sundown - Pets Corner

Sundown Adventure Land previously known as Pets Corner or Sundown Pets Corner is a theme park located in the East Midlands in the heart of the UK.

The park is aimed at under 10 year olds and is truly a great family day out which we can highly recommend.

For anyone considering going to Sundown Adventure Land, or for anyone who would like to see more, here we take at look at the park and the attractions it offers, mainly in pictures

We would also welcome any personal reviews of Sundown, which can be left in our guestbook, towards the bottom of this page, to offer other opinions of the park for people to get an idea of what to expect.

retweetImages on this page were taken on our trip to Sundown, and in no way are we connected to the park or the owners of Sundown. This is simply an overview of our visit there.

Where Is Sundown Adventure Land

Sundown is located around 7miles from Retford in Nottinghamshire, UK, which for us makes it about a ten to fifteen minute drive for us and ideal for a day out. You can use the google map below to get directions from anywhere in the UK

Sundown Adventure Land Photos

It was a typical English summer's day on our visit to Sundown, partly sunny with the occasional shower, but this didn't stop the fun. Most of the park is outside and open to the elements but there are indoor play areas and cafes, also a lot of the attractions are building type areas, and shelter from the rain is possible by just stepping inside. There is one ride which warns you of getting wet, the Boozy Barrel ride, although it is very minimal.

Santa's Sleigh Ride

Although aimed at the Xmas period, the Santa's sleigh ride is open whenever the park is open.

The brochure from the park states that the Christmas festivity weekends for 2009 start on Saturday the 14th Nov for this year, and that the park will stay open until 6.00pm every weekend from then in November which then increases to 7.00pm in December. The festivities also run all of Christmas week, Dec 21st to Christmas eve, but the park will close at 4.00pm Christmas eve.

This text taken from the brochure:
As the evenings draw in, the market square will come alive with hundreds of twinkling lights and decorations......at various times throughout the day you will be able to join the dancing bears in the childrens disco and be amused by the clowns or other entertainers......visit Santa in his very own house and receive a lovely present.....

Monkey Mischief

Another great area of the park is the Monkey Mischief area. Here we took a video of some of the mischief these monkeys get up to and think you'll find it very amusing - we did. We heard three different songs which the apes sang and danced to, but there could possibly be more

Fun Attractions

Sundown offers an attraction in our opinion to suit just about any child, although the park is aimed at the under 10's we took our 13 year old daughter, who probably won't admit to it, but had yet another great time.

There are numerous attractions all based around a theme. Fort apache is an outdoor play area with swings, slides see saws, climbing apparatus and more and is situated next to shotgun city, a make up area of the old wild west where there are daily sing along shows. The pirates adventure and also smugglers cove are more fun activity playing areas for the kids. Lollipoppet Castle where the buildings smell of chocolate and Captain Sandy's Play Cove, set in a sanded area.

Along with other attractions which offer fun play and activities for the kids, again we feel you will find something your child will enjoy.
