I just love painting glorious summer sunflowers in rich butterscotch yellows and golds. I grow a lot of these flowers in my gardens for the goldfinches every year so I usually have plenty of sunflowers to paint.
Last year was difficult because for the first time the deer ate my sunflowers and hollyhocks! But I did manage to paint a few anyway.
