Being a mother is God's way of testing us!

Parenting let's face it, it's demanding! My baby is now 13 months and everyday is a joy but it does have it's drawbacks. When I get those negative feelings though I think, "it's probably worse for my baby, she is growing at a rapid rate, learning things everyday and is constantly exposed to new and exciting things". If that was happening to us, we'd be exhausted!

This lens is about the life parenting, selling t-shirts and keeping sane in the challenging world of motherhood.

My daughter's First Birthday Gift - Fisher Price Laugh & Learn Walker

September 13th my daughter Aria received a Fisher Price Laugh & Learn™ Stride-to-Ride Walker™. She absolutely loves this toy.

It's a musical walker, a ride-on and a great vehicle for learning! Beginning walkers can steady first steps while enjoying lots of learning activities on the busy dashboard. This unique walker's features include a steering wheel, beeping horn, musical radio buttons for baby to push, a headlight knob, clicking turn signals and turning key.

Then, when your toddler is ready to ride, just lock the walker's legs together to form a comfortable seat. Music, sounds, lights, and speech bring the learning fun to life for baby! Hood opens and closes with three shapes for baby to sort through openings. The hood has enough room to put her favorite Nicci bear, a Hairy Maclary book and her Fisher Price Blocks.

I highly recommend this toy, it keeps my baby occupied for quite a while!

Finally, a new digital camera!

I am the happiest person in the world because we finally got a new digital camera. My old one had given up the fight about three years ago and since then I have been using other people's cameras and the camera on my mobile phone. After expressing to my partner many many times how badly we needed it especially because our baby won't be a baby forever and we need to have pics of her, he said "let's go and get one"! I jumped into the car with glee and drove to the store and guessed what??? they were on SALE!!! So NZ$355 later, I have a brand spanking new Olympus FE 220, lots of whizz bang features, but most importantly it takes fantastic shots!

Well I'm off to grab more happy snaps!

Sheepskin Booties!

As you may have read in my previous posts, my daughter has a thing about pulling her shoes off and throwing them, well I finally bought her a new pair of shoes and with the weather being very cold here in New Zealand at the moment, I got her the cutest pair of Sheepskin Booties. They cost only NZ$26 and worth every cent! She cannot pull them off and they keep her tootsies nice and warm and best of all, she loves them!

Tears of a proud mom.

On Thursday night my daughter Havana appeared in her school production of Robin Hood. For weeks and weeks she has been practising playing the recorder for the show and it paid off because her performance was effortless, I am so proud! I have this thing where whenever she performs on stage I can't help but cry and I have always been that way ever since she performed her first tap dance when she was 5 yrs old.

These are always good feelings to remember, and I will never forget.

Baby bibs, onesies and infant t-shirts!

Check out my new designs on baby apparel and tote bags. Cute and colorful, eye catching and adorable, perfect for gifts or your little one! Just click on one of the following samples and you'll be taken to the store!

The case of the missing shoe, part 2!

Not long ago I told the story of how my daughter lost her bobux shoe, well, she did it again and this time, it was lost in the supermarket. We were walking around grabbing groceries and Aria was sitting in the trolley happily playing. I was very aware of her taking her shoes off habit and was constantly checking her feet to make sure the shoes were still there. We got halfway through the market and because I was so involved in reading labels on food products, I didn't notice that she had taken her shoe off and thrown it. We got to the checkout counter and I realised she was missing a shoe and so off we were walking every long, long, LONG aisle to try and locate it and well, it was lost, again I was crushed, her first shoe missing!

A few days later I decided to give the supermarket a call and YES!! they had found it, it had gone underneath the mayonaise shelf!! victory! again!

So this weekend, I spent a lot of time altering her shoe and hopefully she won't be able to get that darn thing off again, yes I have finally learned my lesson!

Holiday with baby.....can be a trying time!

I have to say that I am so incredibly glad that we spent the money and bought the right baby equipment! We spent around $3,500 on everything, mountainbuggy, cot and mattress, car seat, rocker, travel cot, bassinette, bath, change table, highchair and clothing (for the first few months).

All these things have made looking after the baby so effortless that when we went away on a recent holiday, I realized just how much that was true. I had to take a travel cot which weighs a ton and putting her into it nearly broke my back as it sits really low to the floor, she's too big for the bassinette model. Then I had to change her nappies either on the floor or on the bed, again breaking my back and if that wasn't bad enough, she had "feelings" about being held by anyone else, and since I forgot her rocker, I spent nearly the entire time carrying her around!!! Poor baby didn't know what had hit her! all these strange faces (relatives) surrounding her made her feel uncomfortable.

At least now when I'm about to go on a journey, I shall be thinking twice about what I pack, the rocker goes in the car first!! haha!

How quickly they grow.

I had a realization today that my beautiful baby girl will be 9 months old next Wednesday! It won't be long until she's 1yr and I will probably still be thinking, why haven't I shifted my baby weight yet!

She is learning so many new things and this is fantastic to experience, I consider myself very lucky and feel for those who have to work and miss a lot of their baby's firsts, first walk, words etc.

My other daughter Havana almost 11yrs, grew up in daycare from 6wks old, I was very happy to have found a fantastic nuturing and caring environment for her, but I always felt like I was missing out. To have a supportive partner who gave me the option to experience as much as I have with Aria has been a blessing and with that in mind I think I will go and plan a nice dinner for him tonight!

The case of the missing shoe!

Today, my darling daughter decides to lose one of her Bobux shoes! A Bobux shoe is the New Zealand equivalent to Robeez shoes. As these were her first pair of shoes I was crushed because I wanted to mount these shoes into a frame and hang them next to my other daughter's Bobux shoes from 10 years ago.

So Aria and I went shopping for a replacement pair and four shops later, I gave up, they had the shoes but not any design I liked, so I went home a little bummed out, then, when nap time came, I took Aria, placed her in her cot and what did I find caught between her mattress and a quilt? her BOBUX shoe!!!

Victory!

I've just joined!

Hello, a little intro, I'm a stay at home mom of 4, my partner and I are just starting a new business and I have recently opened shops at CafePress. I say shops because I can't open a premium shop yet that covers all my designs, therefore each design has to have it's own store, but I digress...

I jumped on here recommended by a fellow CafePress member as a way of making some possible sales, but I have found that this is more than that, it's a fantastic community linking you to some wonderful inspiring people, needless to say, I'm very glad to be here and look forward to meeting some fellow Squidoo members.
