Super Pocket Bikes - Fastest Of Them All

For those daring pocket bike enthusiasts who never get enough speed, super pocket bikes are king of the street. With top speeds exceeding 70mph with some models, it really doesn't get any faster than this.

There are many different types of super pocket bikes, but we're not going to go over each individual X15, X17, X18 and X19 models from all the different pocketbike sellers. Instead, we'll focus generally on these super pocket rockets in comparison to their smaller counterparts.

I also offer more information about pocket bikes at Pocket Rockets and Pocket Bikes, including links to other pocketbike lenses here on Squidoo.

Overview Of A Super Pocket Bike

Typically pocket bikes are a 1/4 scale of a full size motorcycle. They usually have very small 47cc, 49cc or 50cc two-stroke engines. Super pocket bikes, on the other hand, are 1/2 scale replicas of sportbikes, aka crotch rockets. Super pocket bikes usually come equipped with 110cc engines with either an automatic or 4 speed transmission.

While the top speed of typical pocket bikes range in the 25-30mph range, their 'super' big brothers often range from 55-70+ mph, a dangerously fast speed for such a little motorcycle. Often, these versions are used for racing and is a much cheaper alternative to superbike racing.

Common Super Pocket Bike Features

Typically, super pocket bikes are near replicas of their crotchrocket counterparts. Also known as super pocket rockets, these mini bikes come equipped with all the ammenities you'd expect to find on a full size motorcycle.

You'll find that most models come equipped with a working speedometer, front and rear disc brakes, a horn, brake lights and pretty much everything else you'd expect from a street legal motorcycle. The only difference is a smaller engine and frame. In fact, some dealers pitch these as actually being "street legal" though you'd have to check with your local traffic police to find out for sure.
