What are Super Germs?
Today infections acquired while in the hospital kill more people each year than AIDS, breast cancer and auto accidents combined! Hospital-acquired infections are the fourth leading cause of death in the U.S. after heart disease, cancer, and strokes.
Have you heard of MRSA (methicillin-resistant staphylococus aureus)? It is resistant to the following antibiotics: penicillin, amoxicillin, oxacilling and the antibiotic-of-last resort, vancomycin. The CDC (Centers for Disease Control) has said that from 1999 to 2000 approximately 135,969 hospitalizations with a diagnosis of MRSA occurred and it kills approximately 12,000 people each year.
But staph is not the only bacteria to become resistant to antibiotics - also pseudomonas aeruginose is now highly resistant to virtually all antibiotics and this causes about 57% death rate in pneumonia cases. E. coli is also a strain that is resistant to antibiotics.
So lets discuss one option to protect yourself and your loved ones from Super Germs. Try essential oils which are anti-bacterial. This is a good idea if you are concerned about Swine Flu.

Powerful Ingredients in Oregano Oil
Research on Oregano Oil
Two constitutents in Oregano are carvacrol and thymol are deadly against MRSA. According to research done by Nastro A. et al. in "Susceptibility of methicillin-resistant staphylococci to oregano essential oil, carvacrol and thymol," an Italian study. Also a study at Georgetown University concluded "origanum and/or monolaurin, alone or combined with antibiotics, might prove useful in th prevention and treatment of severs bacterial infections, especially those that are difficult to treat and/or are antibiotic resistant."Learn about how to diffuse oils and about the different diffusers there are out there.
A Recommendation for All Mothers, Teachers, Nurses, Doctors and Medical Professionals
I would highly recommend Thieves Hand Soap and all other Thieves antibacterial products such at the essential oil, the mouthwash, the toothpaste, the dental floss as well as the Thieves Household Cleaner. These products come separately or in a Thieves Kit from Young Living. Grave robbers found this formula effective to protect them from acquiring the Black Plague in England long ago.To order from Young Living you must have a sponsor, so use my sponsor # 322979 to join.
The Power of Geranium Oil
According to research by Edwards-Jones V, et al. when tested against different methicillin-resistant staph bacteria geranium oil and grapefruit seed extract had the greatest antibacterial effect against MRSA, geranium and melaleuca alternifolia were the most active against methicillin-sensitive S. aureus (Oxford strain).Another study by Shin S, and Kim JH of Korea on Thyme oil found a germ killing synergy between thyme oil and the antibiotic norfloxacin, particularly against the resistant strains S. aureus.
Melaleuca Alternifolia or Tea Tree Oil Is Very Effective
A British research study by Banes-Marshall L. et al. tested Tea Tree oil against the fungi candida and MRSA among many other bacteria. The oil was effective against 64 of 90 bacterial isolates.MIT Physicist W. Banning Vail, Ph.D., was issued a patent on the use of inhaled vapors from 100% pure botanical essential oils to fight inhaled pathogens. Interestingly, Melaleuca alternifolia and Eucalyptus globulus are named in the patent. See Genetic Engineering News

Cinnamon Bard and Clove Oil Used for Staph Infection
Staph infections are responsible for many disease states including toxic shock. Staph bacteria produce dangerous enterotoxins. A research study at Queen Margaret university in Edinburgh found that cinnamon and close oils decreased the production of enterotoxin A and enterotoxin B.Here is a list of other oils that may also be effective at killing Super Germs: Thyme, Mountain Savory, Basil, Myrtle, Peppermint, Spearmint, Lavender, Lemongrass, and Eucalyptus. So if you have any of these oils on hand, take them with you to the hospital. Better safe and sorry!

Germs That Won't Die
Testimonial Update on MRSA
Hello oilers,Last summer my teenage son had swollen bump by his eyes. We thought it came from a bug bite after being at a picnic outside. Over night it swelled and the eye was shut. My son was headed out of town to a boy scout camp so my husband wanted us to go to the doctors. I immediately upon seeing the "bug bite" used purification in the vicinity. When the eye started shutting I began my son on two inner defense capsules that morning
and two more in the evening. I continued the Inner Defense caps every day until it was gone. The infection started on a Sunday. On Monday I did the oils on Tuesday I began the Inner Defense and continued until it cleared up before he left Sunday morning. It took one week for it to clear.
My husband's visit to the emergency clinic resulted in them "popping" the infected site
and culturing it. They also sent an Rx to be filled. That paper never got filled. The clinic nurse called Monday morning after my son had already gone to camp. They were calling to say that My son's infection was Methycillin Resistant Staph Aureu (MRSA). I took a deep breath and waited for her to finish. She asked how he was doing. I said it had cleared up. She was very surprised. She asked if he was taking the antibiotic still? I honestly
answered " His father took care of it so I do not know".
So Inner Defense can and will clear up an MSRA infection. We took 6 caps a day with meal for 24 hrs and 3 caps a day for two days. Every person is different. I hope this
helps!!! My moto is "Have no fear we have Inner Defense" I do not travel without two new bottles with me if my whole family is going !!!
Happy Oiling!

Essential Oil Safety:
A Guide for Health Care Professionals

Reliable information is wonderful to have
By Kunzangwangmo
I very much appreciated the solid information on the safety of essential oils, as as an MD I have been using them internally for my own health. Without a book like this and adequate understanding, that could be quite harmful. However, people should be aware that the book does not cover the therapeutic effects of the oils, nor give an adequate discussion of the issue of impurities and adulterations and how to minimize the risk of these. This book is a must for anyone practicing aromatherapy, as is a reliable supplier of essential oils who tests all their products by gas chromatography and other methods.

- Great info here!! I've used Tea Tree Oil and Geranium oil for years. My only complaint is that it's sometimes hard to find such oils in the rural area. Five, fave, and lensroll for you.
