Nikki Sixx carries a bass guitar and a journal and pen! Nikki Sixx is the co-founder, bassist, and song writer for legendary rock band Motley Crue, and new and upcoming band Sixx A.M.!
Nikki is a very busy man since cleaning up from his Heroin addiction. Besides being the bassist for two of today's hottest bands, he is also a writer, and a photographer!
Nikki Sixx overdoses twice before he gets drug free!
What does it take for a Rock Star to get clean?
In 1987, Nikki Sixx lived a very different life style from how he lives today. Back then, Nikki Sixx was riding a roller coaster of rock n roll, and it was derailing fast and taking Nikki for the ride of his life. It was a ride that almost cost him his life, several times.Nikki Sixx was a young kid with lots of money to spend and nothing better to spend it on other than heroin and other drugs. Coming from a bad family and growing up being parentless, Nikki found drugs as an easy way to not deal with his pains. He didn't realize the drugs would cause him so many more pains in life. He spiraled out of control until one night he was too messed up to do his own shot of heroin. He left the job up to his dealer, who injected Nikki Sixx with a lethal dose of heroin. Nikki went straight to the floor and started convulsing right there on the floor.
The junkies around him flipped out, but managed to get Nikki to the hospital where doctors gave him a double shot of adrenaline right to his heart.
Any normal person might have wised up and got clean after an incident like that, but that just wasn't Nikki's style. It would take another overdose and a few more years for him to get clean.
Nikki and the rest of Motley Crue eventfully got drug free and was on their way to major success after their Number 1 album Dr Feelgood hit the stores!
Nikki Sixx is drug free and has published a book called "Heroin Diaries - Life of a Rockstar Junky", which has gone to #1 on the New York Times best sellers list!
Nikki continues to write songs for his band Motley Crue and they are set for a huge summer tour called CrueFest 2008, that will feature 5 bands!
