It all began in 1983. Mario Brothers  Was released as a spin-off of the famous video game Donkey Kong. From there came one of the most renowned games ever, Super Mario Brothers. Now , this game is the best selling video game series ever. If you consider that it was released in 1985, well, that's pretty amazing.  Super Mario Bros helped the Nintendo entertainment platform ( NES ) to dominate the video game market for a few years to come. Just as significantly, it helped harden the most influential and classic Nintendo game star ever. Who does not know Super Mario? Super Mario Bros Was released in association with the NES to help get things rolling. It worked so well that 2 follow ups were released on this same system. Super Mario Bros caused side-scrolling platformers to become enormously popular. Many games would try and copy this format for a while. Many of them succeeded, but most failed to. It seemed as though nobody could do it like Mario. In 1990 game-players received one of the most long awaited releases ever, Super Mario Brothers Three. This game is still considered by many to be the best in the series. It had color and crisp graphics, refined gameplay and outstanding level design. Mario could now fly, turn into a frog and walk behind walls. It absolutely was a gamer's nirvana. This game sold almost twenty million copies around the globe since it was released. The Super Mario Bros series is also the best sold game series of Nintendo DS.
