Super Mario Galaxy Reviewed
The Plot
At the start of Super Mario Galaxy you learn the controls whilst being bombarded by Bowser's ship. Toad is running around panicking and Princess Peach has been captured yet again. Mario gets taken to a mysterious place and meets a woman called Rosalina (who also features in the new Mario Kart Wii) and her Lumas. The Lumas are a little partial to starbits and will provide you with help throughout the game if you feed them. Mario's mission is to collect 120 stars and defeat Bowser in the battle for the galaxies.
It feels a little strange to begin with because the world rotates with you. Much like real life, your view is never quite still, but after a little getting used to you will soon realise it works to perfection.
You also learn to collect "starbits". Starbits do become crucial because the Lumas can transform into new galaxies or provide transport for Mario when they are fed starbits. This is one of the many genuinely entertaining moments in Super Mario Galaxy as I haven't ever laughed as much as when I fed the first Luma. It is truly hilarious.
The Gameplay
OK. So this is the key thing. It's a fine art which Shigeru Miyamoto (the man behind Mario, The Legend of Zelda, Donkey Kong etc.) appears to have made his career out of; expressing all those wild and crazy ideas in a game and making it more than just playable... The game must be incredible!
And here he has done it again. Taken the idea of his short, fat, Italian plummer and his tall, slim brother and created a game packed with humor, color and vitality.
This is a game you really can just pick up and play. Perfect for the beginner but equally challenging for an expert in the latter stages.
The Verdict
With an average rating of 97% from gaming magazines, news articles and any other form of press you care to mention. It seems this may be another game in the series that will be with us for a long time!

I Got 60 Stars And Defeated Bowser. What Happens Now?
If you want to know what happens; maybe you haven't bought the game and want to know or maybe you are yet to finish it and are curious, drag your mouse over the box to highlight it and read the text.
When you reach 60 stars, is it the end? No it isn't. You can play to get all 120. What's the point in that, you ask? Well, when you get 120 stars and defeat Bowser again, you unlock Luigi as a playable character. With Luigi you can play the entire game again but it's a lot more difficult. Luigi is faster, can jump higher and essentially is a lot harder to control. If you complete the game with Luigi and get the extra star (that only Luigi can get) you will get to see a secret ending! Will you rise to the challenge?

Mario Kart Wii is an awesome game. Possible the best Mario Kart yet. Can you really say Super Mario Galaxy is the best Mario game there has been? I'm looking at Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Brothers 3. I don't think so!
