Supplemental dental insurance is a new form of supplemental insurance that most people aren't aware of. People, including myself, just assume that if you are employed with dental insurance, you are automatically covered for expensive procedures. That is only partially true. In fact, that is why supplemental dental insurance is needed, to augment the high cost of dentistry.
