What Is A Support Site?

Because Squidoo has such an amazing & easy to use format for making web pages, more and more great support sites are popping up every day.

Support sites are non-squidoo sites that are specifically designed to help Squidoo lensmasters succeed.

There are many different types of support sites. Some are tools to help make lens making even easier. There are also lens promotion sites, community blogging sites, lens directories, RSS feed sites & even specialized Squidoo Support Groups.

As Squidoo Support Sites Mentor, I am here to help you find the right support sites for you.

As your support sites mentor, I'm here to help you find the right support sites for you.

Support Sites can be very useful & helpful, but they can also become overwhelming if you join too many of them.

SQUIDOO SUPPORT SITE TIPS

~ Research ~
Take your time, research & learn about the different sites, tools & groups before deciding which to join. As with any tool, support sites require time and energy to work. The more time and energy you put into these sites, the more you will gain. Joining a site, just to forget about it, won't help you lenses.

~ Choose Wisely ~
Some sites like SquidUtilities & SquidU forum are useful to all Squids, and are musts for lensmaster success. Others are more niche specific like some of the Ning groups. Limiting yourself to only joining sites & groups that are relevant to your lens-making & personal brand, will help to keep you from feeling overwhelmed.

~ Participate ~
Once you have found a site that is a good fit for you, participate & become a part of that site's community. Support sites require participation to get all the benefits possible from them. Remember, that the more you put into any project, the more you will get in return.

Joining & participating in the SquidU forum is one of the best tools & support sites available to all Squids from newbies to Giants.

The SquidU forum is a great place to learn, network, promote your lenses & just hang out and have a good time.

Be sure to read the forum rules & follow them. Bad behavior in the SquidU forum can result in being banned & having your lenses locked... & nobody wants that.

Squidoo Ning Support Groups

Ning is a site where anyone can create their very own social network.

The Ning platform is the perfect environment for Squidoo Support Groups. Ning groups are a great way for like minded squids to get together and help each other succeed on Squidoo.

The Ning platform creates a social networking site very similar to big sites like Facebook, but on a much smaller and much more personal scale. Many of the Squidoo Ning groups come up with creative projects & challenges to help lensmasters make great lenses.

The Ning Groups also have forums, groups within the group & lots of peer support.

There are also a lot of different kinds of Squidoo related sites that offer everything from blog radio to lens making tips & advice.

With so many options to choose from, it's best to visit different sites and get a feel for them before actually joining or subscribing. Joining too many support sites will just overwhelm your e-mail inbox and stress you out.
