Do people that take online surveys make money? Absolutely, if it is done the right way. A couple of years ago I was wondering the same thing (as I was searching for ways to make money online). Well, I did a lot of research on the topic as I started to take paid online surveys in my spare time to earn extra cash. The problem was that I wasted a lot of time searching for the surveys. I actually spent more time on this than taking the surveys themselves. I finally found a way, a couple of years ago, how to fix this problem. Now when I'm asked if online surveys make money, I can tell them the easiest and most profitable method.

After a couple of years of experience and researching the subject I came to realize that this was no get rich quick scheme. However, I also found that you could in fact make some decent money. The surveys usually pay from $5 - $75 and the focus groups (which are more in depth) can pay up to $250. You have to be serious about this if you want to be successful, since you will be your own boss. You must be self disciplined enough to set aside time in your schedule to do do this.
The problem with the free sites is that these sites offer very few surveys, and you would be lucky to get 2 - 3 per month. I found some very inexpensive membership sites (that have money back guarantees) that are extremely impressive in what they offer. The 2 best sites were Maximum Paid Surveys and Survey Scout. They both have huge databases (constantly updated) of surveys and mystery shopping jobs. The real value of these sites is the amount of time and work that you no longer have to do, you can just take the surveys and earn money.
