So I think I like it. Well, besides the fact that half the cast are complete retards and I wouldn't put in charge of picking bananas at the grocery store, I know I like it. The footage is absolutely stunning (how about being a photographer on THAT trip... amazing) and it seems like the elements aren't going to make the game ridiculous, but difficult enough. After week one, I pretty much knew who everyone was, which is a good sign... It seems like nearly everyone is memorable in their own way, which should make for a very interesting season. In addition, it will keep one or two cast members from dominating the air time, as has happened in the past, because there are enough people who are... interesting.

Every week, I will be keeping a running journal of things that hit me while watching... Here are some of those thoughts:

How many times are we going to hear "Emmy Winning Host"? I'm going to go with 4,354,634 over the season!

Random note: I am going to be very upset at the "blurry boobies"... as usual. Makes me so sad! Except when it's Gillian... Then that MIGHT make up for it... almost!

Annoying Note: Fang is sooooo bad that they are going to be featured most of the show. And I don't see that changing anytime soon. So the hot blondes are not on TV nearly enough... Instead, we get the 2 old hags, an Olympic runner who will be winning no beauty pageants anytime soon, and some dorky dudes. I thought you had to be pretty to be on TV?

Speaking of Fang, lets get into that now... As usual, two tribes. Red is Fang, yellow being Kota. I can't think of a season that's had more uneven teams starting out. After Fang's second pick, I was already wondering if they would ever win ANYTHING... After the team was selected, I was fairly confident that was the case.

Not only that, but Kota was absolutely loaded. Even their "weaker, older" players are better than everyone in Fang. They have an amazing mix of youth, strength, and pretty people that will make them a tribe that's absolutely facinating to watch. There are so many unique personalities that seem, after just two hours of show, to mesh perfectly in the scope of the game. Unfortunately, we probably won't get to see much of this tribe, as the dysfunctional, loser Fang already seems to be stealing most of the show time. They have to, I guess. When you're voting people out and fighting weekly, it makes sense that they will get most of the camera time.

Fang is so dyfunctional and SOOO bad, that one of their only 3 decent physical players was voted out FIRST. They have 2 old women who can harldy walk, who are trying to survive in the middle of Africa and you vote out the one girl who can actually move without a walker? BRILLIANT!

In my little running diary, here was the prediction: Okay kids... If they vote out Michelle, they might be the dumbest people in the entire world. They apparently don't want to win... Yet they will (prediction #1) (written 30 seconds before the first tribal council).

Poor Ken! That's all I can say. The one girl who actually gives him the time of day gets booted FIRST! Now, the poor guy had no chance anyway... but it would have been a nice subplot had she stayed... But alas... Now we get more boring fighting and more arguing over who should be the leader...

That's it for now... I'm going to put some more solid thoughts together tomorrow, but I wanted to ramble a bit right after the show to get more fresh idea of where I'm at. All in all, this episode didn't fail to peek my curiosity, and that's a good start.

So my parents have this little family (and by my family I really mean my mother) tradition they like to call "Survivor Night". Every Thursday she rushes home from work and orders pizza or makes some huge casserole (or this year some tofu burgers, as she's also decided we're all too fat). I guess it gives us something to talk about, even though I certainly don't try to spend too much time chatting about the game play with my mom, who at the end of every reality series whines about how stupid the women make her gender look after the 8th women she's picked as the winner finally gets voted off.

All that being said, this is going to be my grand project to keep me both entertained and give me an excuse to keep quite during the commercial breaks, as I'll be "working" on notes.

If you can't already tell, I'm going to tell it like I see it... and you'll soon find out I'm always right (or at least always rightish). I love this forum because I can get your feedback, but am not competing with you for floor space (as on a forum). I promise to be entertaining if you promise to keep coming back.
