I am ... (Isn't that enough?)

Well, probably for my mom and my husband. But I guess the rest of you won't love me just for existing. So here's more about me, links to my various lenses, thoughts on future lenses and just the general randomness that is Susan.

This will forever be a work in progress, so get used to the dust!

I am ... a Giant Squid!

Just got word May 2 that I was in! Hooray!!

And as of July 1, I'm in the Giant Squid 100 club!

I am ... a LOTD winner!!

I've never actually nominated any of my lenses for this honor, so I was quite surprised to find I had won. (In fact, if it wasn't for all the lovely comments of people who pay attention, I might have missed the party!)

Soles United - Recycle Your Used Crocs

I am ... a Kid at Heart

Went on a tear doing Sesame Street stuff, then got a little tired. I'll probably return to do a few more lenses on my favorite characters. Also an upcoming movie, toddler birthday theme and one of my favorite cartoons.

I am ... In Love with Kid's Books

I got back to reading books for the pre-teen set when my nieces and friends' kids started approaching that age. If you're a parent with pre-teens, you don't always have time to screen books for them. Enter Aunt/Miss Susan!! I've been devouring books...

I am ... a Big Reader

And these kinds of lenses give me more excuses to keep my nose in a book! (When it's not in front of the computer screen, that is!)

I am ... Writing About Books

Yep, another blog from me, this one about books. It started as a kind of reading log of sorts, a way for me to keep track of the books I read. But I kind of lost it and have just found it again. So here's what I've read recently and my thoughts on it.

I am ... in Dallas

My latest craze is lenses on Dallas-area events. Here are a few you might catch me at.

I am ... a Groupmaster!

This is likely to be the only one I ever have and I'm constantly on the lookout for more great lenses to add. If you have a lens related to Texas, come over and join the group. If you're looking for a lens idea, come check out my wishlist as well.

I am ... Curious (yep, that way too!)

Some of my lenses came about just because I ran across something, got curious and did some research. This is one of my favorite things about Squidoo. I'm notorious for researching the heck out of a topic. Now, I have an actual use for all that homewo...

I am ... a Food & Wine Lover

In my circle, I'm the person to ask about where to go eat in Dallas. I'll be expanding this as I do more current "research." :-)

I am ... a Giver

I am ... Spoiling for a Fight

Finally have a couple of MonkeyBrains under my belt. One's a rather overdone topic, but I'm quite proud of the other.

I am ... an Author!!

Yep, I have an actual published book on Amazon

Accidentally ran across myself on Amazon one day. Had no idea this book was available there!! I wrote the introduction to this stencilling book back when I had a painting business - all the stuff about how to stencil, supplies, etc. (Yes, a lens on that will be coming at some point!!)

I am ... a Closet Interior Decorator

I am ... Still in Dallas, But Part of the North Texas Region

I am ... a Blogger

It's my blog!!! The Life of Lewister

I am ... a Shopkeeper

I have several "shops" on Squidoo. Yes, I'm here to make some money as well as have fun. My thought process behind the shops is to create a convenient one-stop experience for you around a particular type of item. So I have things from several differe...

I am ... Opening More Shops

This entire series started because I'm always looking for butterfly gifts for my mom. Was going to do just one lens and ... well, it kind of got out of control. I just have no self control apparently. We're at six and counting! (You'll only see five...

I am ... On a Cycling Jersey Kick

I am ... Finding Odd Sports Items

I am ... an Idea Hamster

As such, I have way more ideas than I will probably ever be able to do lenses on. Seriously. I have a list right now of more than 150 ideas. And that list doesn't get any shorter because I spend time making lenses on things that aren't even on the list.

Here's a quick preview of some of my ideas:

  • More on Dallas restaurants - five stars, steakhouses, sushi

  • More on Dallas events

  • Historical fiction

  • Worst book I ever read - The Bridges of Madison County

I am ... a Traveller

I've been all over the United States and finally got to use my passport last year on a mission trip to Sudan. I love to go places, any place, and also love watching travel shows. Still trying to figure out a trip for 2008, though.

I am ... a Quilter, Sewer, Painter, Crafter Handywoman

I am ... Open to Ideas

There's a guestbook at the bottom for general comments about this lens and my lenses. But here, I'd like to hear from you about what you'd like to see a lens on. (My list is obviously not long enough!!)

Or at least one with a good sense of humor. I had a great time putting these together. Lots of good stuff to waste time with here.

I am ... Writing at Gather

Sometimes I run across information that just isn't appropriate for inclusion in a lens and that's where a Gather account comes in. I'm writing (well, just starting to write) articles over there to delve into some topics a little more. Come check me out.

Oh, and you can Gather too!!

    I am ... A Singer

I sing in the Women's Chorus of Dallas (which will get its own lens here soon) and just love music. Need to really expand on this category, though!

    I am ... A Split Personality

Not entirely. But I do have a couple of lenses (with more on the way!!) that I did for my husband. He owns the tracking forum Track Addict and we did some lenses on related topics.

I am ... Taking On a New Personality!

Have dubbed myself the Baby Quilt Queen and am working on lenses in this area. Also have a blog on baby quilt patterns that is just getting off the ground.

I am ... Wowed By Others

Here's my First Woman To ... series. Started as a piece of random curiosity that spawned eight lenses!! (You can only see five at a time here; you'll get a different list if you refresh the page.)

I am ... In Good Company

I am not the only wonderful Susan on the planet. Thank goodness!! That would be a lot of pressure!

I am ... Blessed by Others

Here are a few of the lensmasters who have influenced my lensmaking style or who I just like for whatever reason. I'm random and my list is too. :-) You'll see different folks here every time you load the page.

    McMick

    Hello Susan and thank you

Your response to questions on modules-May 3-was very helpful.

Your responses along with Greekgeek's were two of the clearest most direct responses I've ever received.

I hope it doesn't sound cranky, but direct answers to the question asked does not seem to be a skill of a great number of well-intentioned people who fulfill that role.

I didn't see a way to place this response in the same thread where it might be helpful to others and also reveal your skill in answering questions.

Thanks again and if there's a better way and a different place for me to respond, please let me know.

    Thanks again

    Mick
