We are SWAP! 

We Are Singles With A Purpose.

Our mission is to provide a ministry to single adults (single by chance, change or choice) within our church, Bethpage Assemblies of God and the surrounding communities where they can develop and nurture their relationship with Christ and discover their God given gifts through the vehicles of prayer, bible study and fellowship and ultimately establish a sense of purpose and unity within the Body of Christ.

Ministry Goals:

1) To provide opportunities to develop Godly relationships with other singles of the same and opposite sex.
2) To provide fellowship and recreational activities with other single adults and married couples within the church body.
3) To assist each individual in discovering and developing their God given gifts and talents.
4) To provide opportunities to use those gifts and talents within the church body and the local community.

Where We Meet: Youth Center 

How To Find Us and Get in Touch With A Human if you really Want To

SWAP meets the 1st and 3rd fridays of each month. We meet at Bethpage Assembly of God which is located at the corners of Stewart Ave. and Emma Street, Bethpage NY.

We meet in the Youth Center.
The Youth Center is a nice state of the art room with some chairs and a couple of windows, some walls painted white. The ceiling is white too. I think.

You will like it.

TIME: 8PM
ADMISSION: 5.00pp to cover costs

From Hempstead Tpke. Take Stewart Ave north approx. 1 mile to church on right. There is a parking lot on north side of bldg. We meet upstaris in the Youth Center. Use staircase in parking lot. Take stairs up. Once in lobby, proceed to left, upstairs, open door. You are in Youth Center.

History of SWAP:
A word from Joanne Director of SWAP

In 2005 I received a phone call from the Director of the Single Adult Ministries of the National Headquarters of the Assembly of God. I had been the ministry leader of a single adult ministry at my previous church and he wanted to discuss the possibility of starting one at Bethpage A/G. I prayed about it and created a proposal to present to my board. They gave me the green light and we officially began in March 2007. Our first meeting consisted of approximately 45 people from all over Long Island and each meeting attendance is pretty consistent with new people all the time.
Over the course of our first year we have developed the following event categories to go by:

SWAPTALK - once a month we have someone share on a specific topic followed by an open discussion and then fellowship. We begin the night with worship.

SWAPSOUNDS - special musicians, coffeehouse, etc.

SWAPPLAY - recreational activities such as miniture golf, the beach, bowling, outreaches, etc.

SWAPBUZZ is our info line where you can obtain all of our upcoming events along with other single ministries within the New York area.

SWAP DIRECTOR: Joanne (JoJo)

For the better part of the past 24 years I have served the Lord in many different ministry functions. After becoming divorced some 7 years ago, to my dismay I discovered that there was not a ministry to singles on Long Island; a safe haven to go to for restoration and healing AND discipling in the areas of relationships, interaction and fellowship with the same and opposite sex, dating, mate selection, marriage preparation and ministry equipping. Out of the divorces, widowhood, the singles bars, clubs, apartments and condominiums comes a torrent of need, and it is flowing right past the door of our churches...there is boundless talent and creativity in this flood of single adults. Yet, they continue to search for a home, a place to to find food for their soul and be used in the Lord's service. God gave me a burden to provide such a place.
