Negative Side Effects of Sweaty Hands Surgery

What you need to know if you are considering surgery...

Like with any surgical procedure, ETS can have a series of negative side effects that are good to know about and keep in mind when considering this treatment. Among them we find:

Compensatory sweating. You'll start sweating more in other parts of the body like the legs or the trunks. Most patients don't feel this is a major problem, although it can be annoying at times.

Gustatory Sweating. This occurs in 3% - 5% of the patients, and is basically increased sweating after eating certain foods.

Horner's Syndrome. This happens if the T1 ganglion gets damaged during the procedure. It produces ptosis, myosis and exophtalmus.

Other side effects can result from damages during the procedure, like pneumothorax, bleeding and intercostals neuralgia.

Sweaty Hands Treatments

To have sweaty hands or "palmar hyperhidrosis" is hard. There's no easy way to go around this problem, and affects us a lot, since as human beings we are in constant contact with another people, and this includes physical contact, such as sharing something, or shaking hands. Luckily, there are various alternatives for sweaty hands treatments, but their effectivness depends on the grade of hyperhidrosis you have. For example a severe case may include a surgical procedure. Having said that here's a quick overview of the available treatments:

Oral medication. Some physicians recommend certain oral medications such as Ditropan or Robinul. The FDA has not approved an oral medication specific for excessive sweating, however, if your doctor recommends using these, do not keep using them for a long term because of the side effects. ...

Sweaty Hands and Feet and Anxiety

Many problems with sweaty hands and feet are started because of anxiety. This is a mental status that bothers many of us, and sometimes it is uncontrollable, like in the case of patients suffering from social anxiety.

If this is the cause triggering your excessive sweating problems, then you need to treat the anxiety to end it. There are many ways to treat anxiety both naturally and with the use of medicines. If possible, always stick to natural treatments.

I have found that meditation is excellent to end sweaty hands and feet problems originated by anxiety. Meditation doesn't need anything special - anybody can do it! On the Web you'll find plenty of information about this subject.

Other method I recommend is hypnosis for anxiety. Just by listening to an hypnosis audio you can start seeing amazing results. It really works! I have used it for anxiety and also for nail biting.

there is this machine that sends shocks through your hands, it did not work for me but i have researched this a lot and it seemed to be very effective on others. I think I have a serious case of this-hence why im still researching-but if you google Drionic Machine it should pop up. its pricey but i think it will work for you. Good Luck!!

I have palmar and plantar hyperhidrosis, and it really sucks, because when i use electronics i have to wipe my hands every minute to avoid dripping on it and ruining it. I also go through sheets and sheets of paper every day in school as a barrier so i don't get my paper soaked to the point that any movement of it or writing on it will tear it. I've heard of the medicines and surgeries, but they really don't seem worth the risk and side effects, although this may be because i am social and not afraid to tell people that i have hyperhidrosis. I am a freshman in high school.
