New for 2011, Mattel has released a new Ken doll -- Sweet Talking Ken -- in the Barbie doll product line. Sweet Talking Ken is not just any doll -- he is Barbie's ultimate boyfriend forever and for always. After Barbie and Ken's long-term relationship was left on the rocks a couple years ago, they have happily gotten back together. In case you didn't know, Ken and Barbie reunited in Disney Pixar's Toy Story 3. This new Ken is somewhat influenced by the Toy Story Ken seen in the motion picture. How could Barbie leave such a sweet talker like Ken? Every girl dreams of a man like Ken -- with suave hair, in good shape, and handsome. Ken's sweet talking is just icing on the cake.

This is by far the coolest and most handsome Ken doll that has ever been created. The novelty of this toy lies in its simple yet clever design. Kids caress Ken's heart and then they can begin to record their voice for up to 5 seconds. For instance, your kid can say, "[Insert Your Kid's name], you look so beautiful today!" After recording a sweet message such as this, which can literally be anything that your kid can dream of, you can play it back in one of three pitches -- normal, high, or low pitch -- using the buttons concealed under Ken's shirt. Normal pitch obviously plays back the recording in Ken's regular voice. The high and low pitch modes alter Ken's voice a bit. Girls and boys will have tons of fun playing with this talking Ken. If your little girl owns a Barbie doll, they can make Ken whisper sweet nothings in her ear. As you can see, the possibilities are virtually endless ... it's ultimately all up to your kid's imagination. The Barbie Sweet Talking Ken Doll could very well become your child's new best friend. Unlike other dolls with molded on plastic hair, Ken has sleek hair that can actually be styled by your child. In fact, the hair looks quite realistic by doll standards. He is even outfitted in a lovely snug-fitting shirt that has the words "Ultimate Boyfriend" and a pink heart, representing his everlasting love for Barbie, on it. The best part of all is that Sweet Talkin Ken has a built-in microphone that actually records your voice and talks back in Ken's voice. Ken records up to 5 seconds of sound and you practically have the freedom to make him say anything you can think of. For example, you can make Ken proclaim his love for Barbie by saying, "I love you, Barbie!" Kids can playback the recording in normal, low, or high pitch. Boys especially may be interested in the low or high pitch playback. The quality of the recording is actually pretty decent, as is evident in the videos. It's so easy to use that even a small child could use it, and best of all there are no batteries required. Way to go Mattel!
