There are currently over 2000 confirmed cases. Are we in for a H1N1 Flu Pandemic?
Until there is a vaccination for the H1N1 virus, the only thing for us to do is to be vigil, and make sure that everything is sanitized.
I remember Swine Flu Epidemic of 1976. I was working part-time as an office clerk in an Archeticts firm. One of my favorite archeticts was a thirty-three year old male from Chile who came down sick with Swine Flu. He was out of work for a week. I personally, did not know why he was sick and at sixteen years of age it was the furthest thing from my mind. He came to work one day, he seemed fine and then the next day he wasn't at work. That is when I heard rumours of "Swine Flu" and how bad it was. A couple of days later I came in to work to do my shift, and I was told that he had died from the Swine Flu, and that as an office clerk I had to clean out his desk. When I look back on it now, I should have been given gloves before I touched his stuff.
That was my first and only experience with the Swine Flu. Nobody else in our office contacted it, or even died from it. It was an isolated incident. I had been vaccinated with a general flu vaccine, the previous year, so I do not know if that helped.
According to the Healthier Life more people died or were paralized because they developed Guillain-Barré Syndrome from the vaccine rather then from the Swine Flu that year..
The current Swine Flu is apparently a more brutal form of Swine Flu or H1N1 virus with different genetic strains of Bird and Swine flu in it. All we can do now is be viligent in how we deal with people in public, and how aware we are of the things that people touch in public.
There Are Now Over 2000 People Infected by H1N!. Who Will Be Next?
When it comes to the Swine Flu or H1N1 Flu, there is no age barrier. When the flu hit, it was usually the young or the old that died. With the H1N1 virus it knows no age barrier. It will even kill the healthy, that is why the flu really worries me. Even though I would consider myself a healthy male, I am just as vulnerable to death from this virus as the young and the old.If you are a concerned employer, you should be considering the purchase of the Go-Kit Flu and Infectious Diseases Protection Kit, Healthy Office Kit to Protect 25 People for a Typical Flu Season

Remember the Bird Flu Panic?
More than 3,000 people a day die from Malaria - No panic?
Is it because Malaria does not effect people close to home? Is it just one of those tropical disease, where a lot of third world people live? Is that why there is no urgency to find a vaccine for this disease.
Currently, we have a race on to find a the vaccine for the current Swine Flu epidemic. The federal and state government will spend millions for the successful vaccine, just like the tragic situation in1976.

Cleanliness is Next to Godliness
There is also the problem of washing your hands after you touch the washroom door. This is where many of the people who have germs deposit their germs. You should also wash your hands after you touch a public doorknob! Or anywhere you have to touch anything public. Take one of these antiseptic soaps in your purse.

There is no reason to panic at this time.
There is no reason to panic at this time. All we can do, is watch our hygiene. Wash frequently. If you feel it is time for the mask, wear it. It is better to be safe than sorry.

I think everyone is panicking because it is inevitable a pandemic will wipe out a lot of people very soon...and can happen so easily. Everyone is just wondering if this is the one.
I think it will be worse than it is now, in a couple months instead of gone. unfortunately. :-(
