1. Create a back up of all your files on your web host's server, don't forget the databases, emails! Download this to your computer's hard drive.
2. Sign up for a new web hosting account with a new hosting service.
3. Upload all site files to your new web host's server. I recommend setting up email accounts now on the new server.
4. Go to the service where you bought your domain name from to point the name servers to your new host's servers. Your new web host can provide you with the address for the name servers.
5. Test the site on the new web host servers and begin setting up all the extra features you would like.
6. Delete your files at the old hosting account and cancel that account when you verify that your domain is now pointing to the new servers. Be sure to delete your site files from their remote server as well.
