Star Wars: The Old Republic

Fans of the Star Wars Universe will know no doubt be familiar with the idea of heroes traveling the galaxy with friends in tow, but the Companion feature in Star Wars: The Old Republic (SWTOR) is an exciting new system unfamiliar to most MMO veterans. With Companion's Bioware aims to bring direct gameplay benefits whilst adding to the overall flavor of the player story, immersing the player deeply in one aspect as they invest themselves in the other.

SWTOR Companions

swtor creditsThe SWTOR Companions you'll run into are interesting, original characters who join you in the course of your adventures. Each character can have up to five Companions, and these vary from fierce alien warriors to quirky astromech droids to cunning, seductive rogues.

The selection of Companions a player may encounter varies based on which class has been selected. Through a player's Companions, you gain access to new adventures and information, and a multitude of available quests are opened up, each differing based on the decisions you've made, which in turn have an influence on your Companions' development.

Why need Companions in SWTOR?

Your SWTOR Companions also play a part in the overall game's crafting system in a way that both increases its interactivity and decreases the amount of time you need to spend performing tedious tasks. You can simply assign them tasks, such as the gathering of a specific resource or ask them to craft a particular item and they will do so for you. They will even continue doing this when you're not online, minimizing the time needed to attend to the granular details, while maximizing the amount of SWTOR credits (also known as SWTOR) gained from engaging in them.

I love my SWTOR Companions!

Finally, and most importantly, your Companions can accompany you on the ground during missions. Their skills--be they technical, medical, martial, social or otherwise--can mean the difference between failure and success, life and death. Therefore, it is critical to keep them properly geared up and in tip top shape to ensure they can keep up with you. You will need to invest SWTOR credits in their equipment in the same manner you might if it were your own character's, in this sense, Companions are an extension of your character. Don't fret however, your Companions will earn that money back for you and then some, whether it's saving your life or tedious resource gathering, you might say they're worth their weight in SWTOR Credits!
