Sydney's Wildlife World
Sydney is full of great places to experience diverse wildlife. The first venue for this that comes to mind is Sydney's Wildlife World. Wildlife World is more than just a zoo or a reserve; Wildlife World shows its visitors countless different habitats from all over the world, and provides interactive exhibits fit for the whole family. Whether you are watching an animal feeding, experiencing a world full of butterflies or seeing what some consider to be the last living dinosaur, you are sure to find something fascinating and exciting at Sydney Wildlife World.
Sydney Aquarium
Not far from Wildlife World is the Sydney Aquarium. Complete with marine animals and environments from all over the world, you can see countless exciting aquatic mammals and fish. Go to see the unique Wobbegong sharks, or meet the dugongs at the aquarium. The Australian Reptile Park
The Australian Reptile Park is also located in Sydney, Australia. The Reptile Park is fit for all ages, containing fun interactive activities for young children and educational exhibits for older children, featuring rapping reptiles and the complete evolution of spiders. The Reptile Park doesn't only hold reptiles and arachnids; it also has a wide variety of amphibians, mammals, and birds. The park conducts a lot of fascinating research on venom and antidotes that is interesting to visitors of all ages. Additionally, Tasmanian devil work is especially important to the park. Visit the Reptile Park to learn more about the endangerment of Tasmanian Devils, and what we can do to save their population. Taronga Zoo
If reptiles aren't your thing, head over to the famous Taronga Zoo to see a more complete sample of wildlife. It is home to native Australian wildlife in addition to tons of exotic species. Go see your favourite animal at the zoo, whether it is a giraffe or a seal. Taronga Zoo has daily presentations on specific animals and habitats where visitors can learn about the animals, and even hold and interact with them. Taronga Zoo has one of the most extensive and impressive collections of animals in the world. Featherdale Wildlife Park
Just 40 minutes from Sydney Featherdale has a great collection of Australian wildlife, offering visitors the chance to get up close to over 2,000 animals from over 300 species. Interact with a koala and hand feed kangaroos for the ultimate interactive wildlife experience.
From the initial greeting by the swaggie and joey at the entrance to the park, you are encouraged to get up close to Australia's native wildlife. As well as numerous koalas and kangaroos, features include face-to-face encounters with all kinds of wildlife including wallabies, emus, an amazingly diverse range of birds and 40 species of reptiles in the Reptilian Pavilion.
