Do you know someone that has lost a dear loved one? You may be wondering what is the best way for you to offer your sympathy and comfort. You can send a sympathy gift or offer your time. The best way to offer your time is to cook a meal and take it to the family. In today's busy environment, we may not have a lot of time to cook for our own family as well as another. Planet Gift Baskets has come up with this simple recipe to prepare for your own family and also pack up to send to the grieving family.
Healthy Chicken Kebobs:
* Pre packaged kebobs from meat counter of your local grocery store
* 3 Bell Peppers (vary colors)
* Fresh Cut Pineapple (cubed)
* Cherry Tomatoes
* 1 Onion (chunked)
Slice all of your ingredients in chunks. Place all fruit and vegetables in large bowl. What is nice about the recipe is that the chicken comes already sliced on the skewers. Remove chicken from skewers and begin layering all ingredients back onto skewers. Make enough skewers for two families.
Place skewers on the grill turning occasionally for 10 minutes or until the chicken is cooked. Brush with barbecue sauce and your favorite seasoning. You may consider using barbecue sauce, teriyaki sauce or your favorite marinade. Check with your grocery store. Many offer the kebabs already marinated. Also, when it comes to seasoning, be sure to know the preferences of the grieving family. You don't want your sympathy gift meal to be ruined because they cannot have a certain type of seasoning or marinade.
Arrange skewers on a plate for your family and pack up the rest of your food gift for the grieving family. If you are short on time, include a bagged salad kit from your grocery store. This way they can eat healthy salads without having to prepare them.
This recipe is quick and easy and helps make sure the family under extreme stress gets the healthy meals they need at this difficult time which is imperative to the healing process. Always gift a gift of your time and energy. Sending love, sympathy and encouragement helps others deal with the grieving process. You may not always know what to say during this time but your actions will definitely speak louder than your words.
