Syndrome from The Incredibles
Buddy Pine: Syndrome as a Kid
Yet the name Buddy was strangely fitting when he was a kid who worshiped Mr. Incredible. He covered his walls with posters of his hero and was part of a Mr. Incredible fan club. But his hero-worshiping went a little too far when he tried to team up with Mr. Incredible as his sidekick, Incredi-Boy.
Mr. Incredible was not amused about being stalked and harassed by an obsessed fan. He rebuffed Buddy: "Fly home, Buddy. I work alone."
From that day, Buddy's adoration became hatred. This hatred was directed not only at Mr. Incredible, but apparently at every super hero who possessed special powers that Buddy could only dream about.
Apart from being insecure, obsessive, and a little crazy, Buddy was also an extraordinarily intelligent boy. He even made rocket boots that enabled him to fly.

Syndrome the Super Villain
Syndrome created weapons and gadgets for himself that more than compensated for his lack of super powers. But no matter how powerful he became, he never got over his last encounter with Mr. Incredible, nor did he get over his jealousy of super heroes as a whole. Syndrome came up with a plan for destroying the super heroes one by one and becoming their successor.
The ironic thing about Syndrome is that he doesn't realize that he already has a super power. He possesses super intelligence. He invents gadgets and weapons that are far ahead of their time. With super intelligence, he can create his own super powers and be anything he wants to be.
But like any other super villain, Syndrome chooses to use his gift for evil.
