Which console is better - PS3 or Xbox 360?
I'll tell you the pro's and con's of each system in order to help you make an informed decision when you purchase your next gen console. Do you really want to know which console is better? Read on to find out!
General Overview of Xbox 360 and PS3
Just Some Basic Info
Xbox 360
Next gen console that came out in early 2005. Known for its high failure rate and the common "red ring of death" issue. It is also known for its great online services that come with Xbox Live. Overall, a great console that is great for playing with your buds.
Total systems sold so far: 27.93 million.
PS3
Another next gen console that came out in 2005.Has an unheard of failure rate at 0.02% - 2%. Not so well known for it's online services which are sometimes considered terrible when comparing with the Xbox 360's online capabilities. Not AS good as 360 when playing online, but still good nonetheless.

Ok, I'm gonna get right into it.
PRO's
Blu-ray player.
Great exclusives - LittleBigPlanet, God of War 3, Gran Turismo 5, Killzone 2, MAG, Twisted Metal, Resistance 2, Metal Gear Solid 4, Ratchet and Clank, InFamous, and the list goes on and on.
Free online capabilities.
Extremely powerful cell processor (1% as powerful as the human brain).
Reliable.
Comes with, at minumum, 80gb hard drive.
Silent.
Free online web-browser (can go on the internet with built in wifi).
Impressive outlook for the future.
CON'S
Inferior online services in comparison with Xbox 360.
Worse graphics on mulit-platform games (although this is generally not true nowadays).
Incompatible with PS2 games (it is NOT backwards-compatible anymore).
Fairly expensive.
Smaller library of games then 360 (keep in mind, 360 was released one year prior to the PS3's release).
Less downloadable content for games.
Some games can have large install times.
PRO's

Superior onlive services (Xbox Live) - more users online to play with.
Also very good exclusives (God of War 1/2, Halo 3, Dead Rising, Fable II, Forza, Project Gotham, Halo Wars).
Better selection of games/accessories due to it's head start on PS3.
Great downloadable content.
More online players compared to PS3.
CON'S

You have to pay $50+ dollars a year to be able to play games online.
Could buy an optional HD-movie player (now considered obsolete).
$100 dollars just to get a wireless connection (comes free on PS3).

Really loud and noisy fan.

In the end, there really is no winner. It is all personal preference and opinion.
You want my opinion?
Xbox 360 pwned PS3 in the beggining (PS3 was pretty damn expensive and had no real good games!).
But now, I think PS3 is sprinting away from it's slow beggining and will probably end up being the better console out of the two. With it's better reliability, incredible exclusives coming out and it's free online services, why wouldn't you want a PS3 over a 360? The only reason I can think of is Halo, Gears of War and the other exclusives, but other than that I think PS3 is gonna take over this console war in the near future.
