The T Shirt actually has an very Short History.
The fact of the matter is, is that first t-shirt is on display with the Smithsonian Institute, and is the one that states - "Dew-It with Dewey" for New York Governer Thomas E Dewey during the 1948 Presidential Campaign. The slogan "I like Ike" was used in the 1952 Presidential campaign by Dwight D Eisenhower. American Icons from John Wayne, Marlon Brando, and James Dean wore these "undergarments" or T Shirts in Movies that they appeared in during the 50's.
During the 1960's many of the "cool" people would tie dye and screenprint basic written T Shirts making them a great commercial success.
