What is Filet Crochet?
The most beautiful pictures and designs are created using filet crochet. Simply put, a grid is created using chain stitches to form squares, referred to as spaces. This mesh fabric is the background. The picture or design is created by filling in some of the squares, referred to as blocks, usually with double crochet stitches. Half double and treble crochet stitches can also be used. The picture or design is made by following a chart.
