HP Slate 500

The HP Slate 500 runs on Windows 7, is powered by the Intel Atom 2122 Processor Z540 (1.86 GHz, 512 KB L2 cache, 533 MHz FSB), 2 GB onboard RAM memory, 64 GB SS drive for storage, weighing as little as 1.5 lbs, and at 9.21" x 5.91" and only 0.58" thick is a powerful contender in the tablet arena. The Slate also come with a USB port, inward and outward facing cameras (for video chat and picture taking), a microphone, SD card slot, and a digital pen. Both wireless and Bluetooth capabilities make this unit the portable business machine that it is billed as.

Video of Adobe tablet prototype at Web 2.0 Expo. Adobe went to work designing its own tablet after iPad makers Apple decided not support Adobe Flash or Air. Adobe's tablet comes with the new Android OS as well as NVIDIA's tegra 2 processor. Tegra 2 = FAST!

The Archos 7 Home Tablet, first of its kind to run AndroidArchos is rolled out its new line of tablets last year, the Archos 5 media tablet, the Archos 7 Media Tablet, and the Archos 7 Home Tablet (pictured right). The Archos 7 Home Tablet is the first 7" tablet to be powered by the Android OS, while the Archos 5 Media Tablet is only 5", making it both very functional and very portable. Archos is slightly ahead of the curve in the tablet market, having already released media tablets marketed as answers to Ipods and other MP3 players on electronics store shelves.

Microsoft's ill fated CourierMicrosoft has dropped funding for its Courier tablet project. The Courier, pictured here, was supposed to be a folding tablet that included a stylus. Microsoft may have nixed its previous plans for Courier, but don't count them out of the race just yet...
