Tablets with User Replaceable Batteries
Most tablet batteries can NOT be removed easily. In most cases, the tablet has to be returned to the manufacturer for the battery to be replaced. This differs from cell phones, which almost always have user replaceable batteries.
Lithium batteries only last for a certain number of charges (current estimates are 500-1000 charges). If you use the tablet every day, the battery could be dead in under 2 years. Depending on the cost for battery replacement, this makes a tablet a disposable gadget.
Right now, the only tablet I know of that has a user replaceable battery is the Toshiba Thrive. When I find more tablets with user removable batteries, I will update this page with a list.

Let's Debate This Topic!
Maybe our collective opinions can make the tablet industry change what they've been doing. I'd love to see HTC, Samsung, LG, Apple, HP, Lenova, and other companies make batteries that are easily removable. Do you agree or not?
Should tablets have user replaceable batteries?

Yes, it's really important.

No... It's not important, or I don't care either way.
An External Battery is an Imperfect Solution
If you don't mind carrying this battery with you, then a dead tablet is no problem!
