Tahini

Tahini is a paste of ground sesame seeds which is used in cooking. It is the main ingredient in Hummus, a delicious tahini dip.

Tahini Dishes 

Tahini is used in various dishes in several countries. In Cyprus there are several pies and cookies made with tahini paste, also tahini paste is used for several kinds of dessert. At the beginning of a traditional Cyprus meze, a tahini dip is served together with taramosalata, yoghurt and tzatziki. Usually it is accompanied by bread or raw vegetables.

    Well, I have to say, this was an interesting lens. Most of it is in the video form which I didn't think was what lenses were about. Ik thought it would have been interesting in narrative form.
    In my Greek/Armenian culture tahini is a staple. Hummus is the product of the tahini and the chick peas, and it's no big deal if one doesn't add tahini to the hummus. I should write my own lens!

    Egyptians add equal parts of vinegar and lemon juice to their version of tahini. I like both the Greek and Egyptian versions very much. Great lens!

    I love the name of this ... Tahini! I'd heard of hummus and actually rather like it or just plain old chick peas on my salad. We recently had some kind of hummus dip -- I'll bet it was Tahini! 5*****
