What is Life but a Dance between People?

"Confronting and surviving life's challenges joyously requires a dance," writes Dr. Potts in this new book from Cleveland Clinic Press. "Yet one needn't be a dancer to recognize the power of an embrace or realize the sweetness of surrender to our loves and passions."

Tango: Lessons for Life - A Health Book from Cleveland Clinic Press

For Dr. Jeannette Potts, the Cleveland Clinic specialist in male urology and holistic healer also known as "Dr. Tango," nothing compares to dance - and one dance in particular. Find your tango, she urges in her motivational speeches. Find your tango, and you'll discover your bliss!

"When I conduct workshops," she writes in Tango: Lessons for Life, "I'm using tango as a tool to spark awareness. My question to you is: What is your tango?" But you don't need dancing shoes to take these tango lessons. Dr. Potts uniquely teaches the steps to a happier, healthier life by providing training inspired by the dance on how to improve your personal and professional relationships.

Mixing simple dance fundamentals with candid reflections on life and love, Tango: Lessons for Life shows readers how to reach for meaning and happiness in a hectic world. Illustrated with true stories from the dance floor, this practical and witty guide reveals simple ways you can:

  • Stop anticipating the future and lead from your heart
  • Share responsibility and create success for everyone
  • Be an effective, respected leader
  • Recognize the hidden opportunities in everyday events
  • Grow in spirit with each step you take

Using the metaphors of the dance, Dr. Tango helps individuals and organizations improve productivity, emotional and physical wellness, and job satisfaction by providing one-of-a-kind techniques for teamwork, leadership, communication, and negotiation. Her memorable seminars feature live tango dancing to demonstrate why surrender can be sweet, the benefits of a half-empty glass, and how to share the lead.

As Dr. Potts puts it, training should provide learning, but also entertainment, and it's no longer enough to just be an entertaining speaker.
