Taping Drywalls Video Showcase

I will comment first on the vids I like best:

Taping between two peices of drywall:
The lad shows the tape. I am guessing that you use the same tape as us? Then you will also notice that in the center of the tape there is actualy a very very thin metal strip.So thin thats its not visible to the naked eye. Try rearing it across with your fingers to see if its more difficult in the middle? This sticks out a little so you know which way to fold the tape. I also noticed that some people wet the tape. I have been doing this for years with great success and I have never had to wet the tape?

Taping drywall to the celing part 1:
I use the same tools, But for an amature holding a hockplate might be uncomfortable?. You can also use two mud tools. this is lighter and will cause less strain on your arm. You can also apply the mud from side to side too if thats easier? Otherwize this is a good vid!

Taping drywall to the celing part 2
easy method for covering screw holes. Its easier for you to sand it afterwards. However I would normaly apply a thinner coat x2 to do the job and still make sanding easier!

Taping drywall celing part 3
Always apply the last mud wider. Never less and press your tool more out on the edges. The result is less sanding for you :-)

Some tips not mentioned in the vids:
Sometimes it is possible to get away with some small errors, But be carefull. What I do after sanding down the celing is to paint it x1 when the sun shines in the window. Normaly you will see just how good a job you have. I also play safe by
using a spirit level and applying the mud wider if neccesary!

North star taping tools:
Machine is expensive and used mostly by profesionals. Its not neccesary for someone just fixing up a couple of rooms, Alternatively you could make some money on the side by renting it out to your freinds? :-) Vid has an awesome soundtrack too! We call this tool a bozooka and use it on larger projects. Its not worth the hassle setting it up on small jobs!

Taping and Mudding drywall:
This lad shows the paper tape with the thin metal crease I mentioned. He also shows glassfiber/mesh tape. He prefers it because its sticky and easy to hang. But my company and others agree that the glassfiber tape is not as good as they say. Its not as strong as the paper. It can still crease/create ladders later with movement. We dumped this stuff about three years ago.
