Dandelions - (Taraxacum officinale)

years ago when I lived in a town, there was an empty lot next door. Every spring, an old Italian couple would come up from the City and ask if they could harvest the Dandy Lions in that empty lot. I always helped them harvest, great big ol dandelion greens is what they wanted,, her Dandelion Lasagna was to die for.

sadly, that empty lot, and the house I lived in, and the one next door were all torn down and that whole area is now underneath asphalt, concrete and a strip mall.
the City Fathers of course think that is progress, but I see it a bit differantly.
