Affiliate marketing is one of the most popular ways of making money online. If you are new to Niche and Internet Marketing, this is probably one of the first ways of making money that you came across.

For the creator, having an affiliate to promote and 'sell' his product for him saves him a lot of time and money trying to get traffic to his website and the word out about his product. Having just a handful of busy hard-working affiliates can bring many sales and even though the creator of the product is paying his affiliates a percentage of the purchase price, he is still making money and becoming known in his field.

The reason why becoming an affiliate is so popular is that there is no product that you need to create and when you are a newbie to online marketing, this can seem very attractive. The product has already been created and the tools, such as banners, emails and articles are all there ready for you to use and promote the product in question. If someone purchases through your affiliate link, you get paid a commission for the sale. As an affiliate, you do not even have to deal with the customers, their questions and concerns or any downloading problems.

However, unless you go all out to promote a product or make your affiliate links viral, you probably will not see many sales. You need to promote the product as though you were the creator. You need to promote the product as though it were your own. Then, and only then, will you start to see some monetary gain. The question is this:

How do you find out about products before they launch? If you can find them on Clickbank and PayDotCom then they are already out there in the marketplace. You may even have had a few marketers emailing you about a new product that has already launched. One that they have already affiliated with and hoping that you will purchase the product through their affiliate link which is conveniently placed within the email. It seems that all of the 'gurus' of Internet Marketing find out about these products before anyone else and you end up getting the exact same email in your inbox from a dozen different marketers in one day! There are quite a few people looking for affiliate programs to join, the new products get snapped up quick and before you know it everyone has heard of it, it has been saturated on the web and it is all old news.

There are a few ways that you can find out about pre-launch products and one of them is to subscribe to various marketers lists. Obviously the more lists that you join, the more emails you will get but you will also stand a better chance of finding out about brand new products. Marketers sometimes ask you to promote their products as an affiliate which means that you will be one of the first to know about it.

Another place to go is The Warrior Forum where you will find out about new products in their pre-launch state. You will be able to get some good deals there too which will help you with your online marketing business.

Affiliating with and promoting someone else's product takes work. It is not an easy thing to do to earn money and you may not get rich through affiliating. However, if done in a correct manner, becoming an affiliate at the beginning of your online marketing career will bring in the money and give you the confidence to create your own product and have your own successful online business. Maybe one day soon, someone will be promoting your product as an affiliate.

This little ebook seemed to cause a big stir in the dieting world and certainly made Dr Suzanne very famous and extremely rich. Obviously being a doctor, she knows her stuff but with the access that we all have to private label rights content, this should not deter you if you want to target this niche market.

Together with Dr Suzannes product, she created an affiliate program with plenty of emails, articles, blog posts, banners - in fact everything you need to promote this product and earn a commisson from it. Because of the success that Dr Suzanne has had with this product, she has now created a Health Biz in a Box.

This is actually quite a nice package and well worth having a look at. You get a complete website set up for you with an actress/model stepping out from the side of the page to 'talk' to your prospective customers.

Although this package is priced extremely low for what it is, this is something that not everyone can afford to purchase. So, again, there is a very nice affiliate program attached to this so that you can promote the product and earn a commission if you prefer. Here is one of the banners available:

If you wanted to target the health niche but do not want to spend out on the Health Biz in a Box, you could quite easily set up your own website using private label content. All Private Label Content have some great packages and article bundles that you could use for this. Place your affiliate links on your website in the form of banners for the two products I have mentioned above and this would give you a chance of earning extra income. Amazon also have an affiliate program and once your website has been approved by them, you could start placing Amazon widgets on your site too. Creating a free newsletter for website visitors to opt-in to would help to build your list and you could recommend health related products to them via your affiliate links.

Becoming an affiliate does not cost anything so by using the strategies above and some of your own, you could create quite a lucrative online business in the health niche.

To sell a product on a particular interest or to a particular type of person as opposed to the world in general, is known as 'niche marketing'.

Usually a 'niche' is a small or special area that perhaps is not as popular as another. For example, the subject of "Online Dating" is more popular than "How To Teach Your Parrot To Talk" so the latter would be described as a 'niche'. However, from what I have seen on the Internet and in magazines, the word 'niche' seems to target any area that is of interest to anyone, categorised as small or large niches.

Targeting products or services towards a specific smaller niche is more attractive to sellers in that their advertising budgets go further. It costs less to advertise to a smaller specialised market than it does to advertise to a wider market. Some larger companies also sell to smaller niches. For example, a company that makes computers and computer accessories might advertise all-in-one copy/printer/scanners to the home computer user while at the same time advertising single function machines to large businesses. This way they also meet the needs of the smaller niches that they would otherwise not have met, reaching a larger audience and making more money. Good business sense!

However, for the smaller niches, marketers must tailor their product to meet the unique needs of their targeted audience. What use is an e-book on the subject of 'dog grooming' to someone who does not own a dog? None at all! So in order to advertise your product of 'dog grooming', you need to target those people who are interested in the subject or indeed have a dog that they wish to groom! In other words, you need to 'target' your niche.

Niche marketing is a very effective and cost efficient way to advertise and sell specific products or services to a particular audience.

Targeting a smaller niche market is another way of making money online. If there are enough people interested in the niche you intend to target but not many products available, creating your own product utilising private label content could bring you another stream of income.

I have read quite a few books in my time explaining the process of finding a small niche market that is profitable. I did however find it rather confusing - search on Google, click here, click there, divide and multiply - that I gave up in the end. But now there is an easier and much quicker way!

I have just discovered (and purchased) a brand new little program called Micro Niche Finder.

This is a rather nifty little program and I am testing it out to see what happens. The Micro Niche Finder will help you to find 'hidden' niches, will perform word phrases that are being searched on Google, lets you know whether it is profitable to target that particular niche or word phrase or not and also searches Clickbank for you so that you can affiliate with a product on the related niche. Pretty cool program!

One other thing that I liked about this was that you can actually watch videos on site so you can see this program in action before you purchase.

Whichever type of product or website you decide to create, it must be rich with information, help people to solve problems and make them happier, healthier or wealthier. In essence, it must provide the very thing that your buyer wants or needs in such a way that they cannot get anywhere else.

Using your hobby for niche marketing is a great way to start your own online business.

When you have a passion for something, when something really matters to you and you have experience in that subject, you can conceive and produce your own product with authority.

It doesn't matter what your hobby or passion is, even if nobody else has heard of it, there are probably plenty of other people who share your interest and who may even be more involved in it than you are.

Being passionately involved in a hobby is the thing that successful niche marketing is made of. To be successful with your online business, you have to have enthusiasm for the subject that you are creating a product for. Most really successful niche marketers have turned what they care about most into successful businesses, online and offline, and the reason for their success is because of the love they have for the theme of their business.

It's hard to stay focused on a subject that you don't care about. Obtaining content and products by way of articles and e-books for your online business doesn't have to be time consuming and expensive. Content is definitely 'king' but this applies to new and original content, not content that is old and worn out and which has been travelling all over the Internet for the past few years. If you search for content on the Internet and at places such as e-Bay.com for products such as e-books and articles, you will probably stumble upon 'old' products and products that a lot of other people have - hence them already being sold to others and to you!

What you really need is brand new content. Content that not many other people have, this way you will have more of a monopoly. Below are a few different 'types' of products that you will find on the Internet that you may obtain for your own online business.

Private Label Rights

Private Label Rights Products (PLR) are excellent as you receive the original 'Word' document which means you can brand them with your own name and website address and even change the content if you so wish. If you don't give any rights with these products, i.e. Resale or Master Resale Rights, then you will be one of the few people who have and are selling this product. If you are able to obtain unrestricted Private Label Rights to a product say, for example an e-book, you may even change the graphics to make it look completely different. Giving Private Label Rights with the product (where the license permits) when you sell will make it even more valuable to your buyer.

Resale Rights

Resale Rights products (RR) are excellent too because only you and those who have bought the product direct from the original seller can resell the product. For example, if you are only one of 50 people who have bought the product then there are only 50 people (including you) in the whole world that people can buy that particular product from.

Master Resale Rights

Having Master Resale Rights (MRR) to a product still doesn't mean that if you acquire it you have to pass on those rights. MRR products are more widespread and it is quite hard to find products by way of e-books that are brand new. Because a lot of people have them and are selling them with Master Resale Rights, this gives their customers permission to pass on those rights too and so on and so forth. Therefore the quality of Master Resale Rights products and in particular, e-books, seems to have deteriorated.

Hiring a Ghostwriter

Hiring a ghostwriter to write your articles and/or ebooks for you can be very expensive but your work will be original. However, in the case of ebooks, you will still have to either produce the e-book graphic yourself or hire someone to do it for you.

Write Your Own

Writing your own content by way of articles and/or e-books is the best way of having your own original content. However, this will take up a lot of your time and research on your part to produce. In the case of e-books, you will still have to design your own graphics or hire someone to do it for you.

There are a few different ways of having content for your website or blog by way of articles and products to sell and searching the Internet for quality content that is brand new can take a lot of your valuable time and money. Joining a membership site is a good way of obtaining content and e-books for your online business without having to produce your own. The fees are set per month and you are able to obtain everything all in one place. You will of course have to look at what each membership site contains as they vary from site to site. Some are for Private Label Rights Products, some are for Master Resale Rights and some are for Resale Rights products only. A few have a mixture of products and some membership sites only have one particular theme or niche.
