Planning a visit to a zoo with a view!
If you're planning a visit to Taronga zoo then check out the information below. I visited the zoo recently, and have added photos, links and information to help you on your trip. Enjoy!
How to get to Taronga Zoo
One of the best ways to get to the zoo is by ferry! When I visited we caught a ferry from Circular Quay, which is a great way of seeing the harbour, including a close up view of the opera house for some great photo opportunities. --->You can even get a ticket to the zoo with the return ferry fare included, called a 'Zoo Pass'.
There are plenty of other ways of getting to the zoo, check out this page on the official Taronga Zoo website for more information on trains, buses, ferries and car parking.

Print out the Taronga Zoo map before you go!
When planning your route through the zoo, it's worth noting that the zoo is on the side of a hill. The exhibits at the top of the map are also at the top of the hill, so it's best to work your way from the top to the bottom!
You will notice that the ferry stop is at the bottom left of the map. don't worry, you won't have to walk all the way up the hill! When you get off the ferry you simply hop on the 'Sky Safari' car to view the zoo from the air! It will take you to the top of the hill in comfort. If you're not a fan of heights, then you can also hop on a bus that will take you to the top.
Watching the seals swim underwater is pretty cool!
