The Tate Girls -- through the years!
If you have sisters, I hope you have as much fun as we do! Separated by miles, we are in touch via the internet, instant messaging, e-mail and the telephone! Enjoy our lens about us!
Recently on another forum, Jaguar Julie asked to see a photo of the Tate girls! I decided a lens was in order. So here it is!
We were a family of four children back in 1953. Each one of us four years apart. Our father did accounting, obviously planning for college days in the future! :)
Our baby brother and our parents died years ago. But the 3 of us have survived. And here we are -- on the internet! Now who on earth could have dreamed such a thing in 1953?
What Do the Tate Sisters Do?
created for our special inauguration of Cousin Chris
Tate sisters.......Learn songs, listen to and tell stories, act silly, wear basic black for any occasion, laugh a lot, Trust in God, love to dance (especially the Shag), believe in Angels, share cercis (surprise gifts), eat Southern foods, Drink only the finest, smoke only the best, extend hospitality, make lots of lists and check off, give great parties, listen and advise, know how to cook a few special things, live with honesty and integrity, are grateful for blessings, appreciate pass-arounds and hand-me-downs, are kind to and love animals, have a special attraction to frogs, butterflies and hummingbirds, take pictures, pray, love our country, make adventures in our lives, have lots of friends, remember that it's never too late to be what you might have been, follow their dreams, dare to try, are creative, share the tears, give lots of hugs, support each other, brag on kids and grandkids, encourage, never forget how to be a child (blow bubbles and balloons, own a new pack of crayolas and coloring book), appreciate nature, enjoy a good book, learn, grow and stretch, enjoy history and our heritage, love angels, display, use and enjoy the beautiful family treasures, remember that "Today is the First Day for the Rest of Your Life", say I love you often, let others know that you're thinking of them, especially family and try to make a difference in this world.

Chris blows up balloon and blows bubbles!

Hospitality Room for Kathy's Wedding! What fun!
August 2007, our daughter, Kathy, married the love of her life, Adam. Betty and Nancy hostessed the hospitality room at the hotel! We all had a wonderful time in the days before, during and after the wedding! What fun to have a special place to celebrate with family and friends! In typical Tate sister fashion, Adam and Kathy were crowned Queen and King! We always have to crown someone, it seems! I think Adam actually expected it!
and of course, we had a little sing-along fun too!

Kathy knew exactly what was coming - time to crown king and queen!

Sing-a-long is a Requirement!

Adopted Sister - Brand New
Thank you, Janelle, our newest "adopted" sister!
In November 2008, Ccgal responded to my plea for help with some reel-to-reel tapes I found. Soon I was listening to an old Tate Family Sing-a-long from 1968 - including our mother and brother, who died many years ago. What a joyful piece of tape!CCgal, Janelle, is our newest "adopted" sister!
Thank you, Janelle!

- It's really sweet how you and your sisters managed to keep in touch (and have fun while doing it too!). You really look happy and this encourages me to give a call to my older sister and who I haven't spoken with for months. Thank you so much! Enjoy!

- I'm so pleased for a lens-roll to this lovely and fun lens. You are very sweet and that really shows through. Lots of love! - I know that Shelly came over to see this lens and love it. It is possible that she wasn't able to sign the guest book, because she isn't a member of Squidoo. I'm working on her....:)

- I love all you Tate girls. I read the things you do twice and every word is true about you. The world is better because you are in it. YOU ALL ARE REAL, the Velveteen Rabbit kind of real, and you get more precious every day. Thanks to Nancy for including the steel magnolia picture. Now I feel kin to you, since I'm in the mix....love, bj
