Tattoo Design for Women

Tattoo designs for women are become hotter and hotter all the time. My first tattoo was the little butterfly picture up to the right here. I was a bit weary before I got my first tattoo.
I know getting that first tattoo is the scariest. One of the most important things that I think all women should know is to have a design picked out BEFORE you goto a tattoo parlor. You wont have to worry about "buyers remorse" or quickly choose a design that you are unsure about.
I want to tell you some of the things you should be aware of; Tattoo artists and people with tattoos, vary widely in their preferred methods of caring for new tattoos. Some artists recommend keeping a new tattoo wrapped for the first twenty-four hours, while others suggest removing temporary bandaging after two hours or less.
General consensus for care advises against removing the scab that forms on a new tattoo, and avoiding exposing one's tattoo to the sun for extended periods; both of these can contribute to fading of the image. Furthermore, it is agreed that a new tattoo needs to be kept clean.
Tattoo as body art has been enjoyed by practically every civilization and culture in history down through the years. All these people had one thing in common; they appreciated the artwork of beautiful tattooing.

Picking Your Artist

Choosing a tattoo artist should never be a spur of the moment decision. Your tattoo is something that will be with you forever; therefore choosing a tattoo artist that will do a great job in a safe manner, is highly essential.
Many people get too excited when they make the decision to get a tattoo that they rush to the nearest shop and get a tattoo. However, choosing the right tattoo artist for you involves several steps.
The best way to choose a tattoo artist is by word of mouth. If one of your friends has recently gotten a tattoo that they were completely satisfied with, maybe they can recommend the tattoo artist that did theirs. You might come across someone on the street or in a club with some great body art-it wouldn't hurt to ask them where they got it. The reverse is true if they were dissatisfied with a tattoo recently; make sure you stay away from that same mistake!
Visiting several tattoo shops is my recommendation before you choose your tattoo artist. I think you should do this on a day before you are actually planning to get your tattoo to avoid nerves and time crunches getting in the way of this decision. Once you have made a list of the local tattoo shops near you, visit them one by one. Get a feel for the employees and look around, friendly helpful workers and a nice environment are two things to look for when searching for a quality studio.
Don't be afraid to ask questions. Ask about their sterilization process. Ask about the experience levels of the tattoo artists. Ask to see portfolios of past work they have done. These questions will give you an idea of their level of talent and skill. Hopefully, you will be able to meet some of the artists to be certain that you feel comfortable with them.
You may visit multiple tattoo shops and meet many tattoo artists before you meet one that you feel confident in. But once you get your new tattoo and it turns out perfect, you will thank yourself for taking the time to choose a tattoo artist that you liked.
Not Ready for the Needle?
Give Henna a Try
Henna paste is usually applied to the skin using a plastic cone or a paint brush, but sometimes a small metal-tipped jacquard bottle used for silk painting is used (All of these techniques take lots of practice before you become proficient at them).
You can now get Henna in Pen form which saves on the mess and is much easier to apply. Just click the picture to see the pens.
The painted area is then wrapped with tissue, plastic, or medical tape to lock in body heat, creating a more intense color on the skin. The wrap is worn overnight and then removed. The final color is reddish brown and can last anywhere from two weeks to several months depending on the quality of the paste.
The patterns of mehndi are typically quite intricate and predominantly applied to brides before wedding ceremonies. However, traditions in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sudan sometimes expect bridegrooms to be painted as well.
In Arabic and Persian speaking countries, such as Morocco, it is done for any special occasion. It is done during the seventh month of pregnancy, after having the baby, weddings, engagements, family get-togethers, as well as many other reasons to simply celebrate an event.
Mehndi decorations became fashionable in the West in the late 1990s, where they are sometimes called "henna tattoos". This term isn't accurate, because tattoos are defined as permanent surgical insertion of pigments underneath the skin, as opposed to pigments resting on the surface.
Henna is also used for long lasting lip gloss, eyeliner and other 100% natural henna products at Henna Penna, Lips, Size and Eyes

My New Tattoo
I just recently got this new tattoo below my belly-button. I love this tattoo and so do some men friends who have seen. They seem to think it's pretty sexy. I don't spend a lot of time trying to figure out WHY they like it, they're a little to predictable. I found my design on this website where you can surely find a design that is just for you!! Post-Tattoo
1. ALWAYS TIP your tattooist.2. Follow the instructions that your tattooist gives you for taking care of your tattoo. A lot of tattooists have different regimens for care, but the general one is that you need to treat it like a really bad sun-burn. If your tattooist doesn't give you instructions for care, ask. If they have none, go somewhere else and ask. (A&D ointment is good.)
3. DO NOT pick at it. If you pick, it'll scar. And that sucks.
4. Full healing takes a few weeks, depending on your immune system.
Remember, it's permanent, so I would also advise never getting words or letters tattooed on your body because you have to live with that image the rest of your life. (Tattoo removal hurts more than getting the tattoo in the first place.) If you think your parents are gonna flip, wait until you're 18 (most good tattoo shops aren't going to ink you without ID that says you are legally an adult any way; if they don't ask for your ID, it's a bad sign) and tell them "I'm an adult, get over it"

More on Symbolism
There are religious symbols, gang symbols and even family symbols, usually called family crests. A symbol holds a certain value and meaning to the group that wears it. It is a prove a association to that group. Thus, having it tattooed onto your skin is a way of saying that you are a permanent member pf the corresponding group.
Symbols are usually tattooed in a visible area of the body, such as the arm. Religious symbol tattoos like the cross and om symbol are quite common, and they are proudly displayed by their wearers to announce their religion. For some, these symbols provide a sacred refuge for them and allows a greater respect for their beliefs and the principles these symbols stand for.
Symbolism Tattoos
Famous Symbols: Some famous symbols that are greatly cherished as tattoos are religious or spiritual symbols, Christian faith symbols, Jewish-Judaism symbols, Buddhist symbols, Pagan-Wiccan symbols, astrological, zodiac and flower symbols. Apart from these historic and religious symbols, there are a few popular symbols used for tattooing. And you can also interpret their universally accepted meanings.
Rainbow Tattoos are Hot, -HOT, H O T: Looking at a rainbow tattoo, a beginner tattooer may connect it with the rains, weather or even leaping leprechauns. HA- But in the tattoo world, rainbow is sometimes the symbol of gay pride. These rainbows have some particular colors and that too in a particular order.
Tribal Tattoos: The tribal tattoos tell their meanings themselves. You can find numerous designs in tribal tattoos like, stars, sun, moon, and claws. They convey a wild meaning with their bold visual appeal, thick and black curving. You can always ask for the exact meaning of a tattoo to the tattoo artist prior getting it made. More so, where you carry a tribal tattoo denotes the exact meaning of the tattoo. The upper arm and the lower back are the hottest areas to have a tribal tattoo.
Chinese and Japanese Tattoos: It is the speciality of Japanese and Chinese tattoos to incorporate their cultural symbols and language script in the tattoos. If you know these two languages, you can get a meaningful, exotic and tasteful tattoo made on your body. The Chinese dragon tattoos are in great demand. As the Chinese dragon looks like a bloodthirsty and fire-breathing beast, people take it as the symbol of power and mystery. As my last word, I'd like go and catch a deeper meaning of your own and your friend's Tattoos. If you know a meaning, that's good. But if you like a particular tattoo and have your own reason for it, do not let this be hitch in your ideas and feelings. After all, beauty has its own meaning, yeah... -so be sure... enjoy your Tattoos.
Once taboo, no more
Speaking of Iban tribal tattoos, do you know that the Iban girls here have symbols tattooed on them indicating their skills or expertise at something (eg cooking)? I thought its kinda interesting. I know tattoo is an important part of the Bornean Iban culture. What I didn't know that they do it to sort the girls like library books!
Not all of them do it for fashion reasons. Some call it art, some do it to record an important period in their life, most just do it without reason and just for the heck of it. Its a case where because all my friends are doing it, so I might as well do it too.
Tattoos are so popular now that people who have tattoos long before they became widespread started to call these new tattoo-enthusiast 'wannabes'. I haven't heard much from people who regretted having a tattoo. If there are people like that then they probably aren't too vocal about it. Most people do get addicted after having their first tattoo, and went on to have the second and third and so on.
Random Stats and Ramblings
...about 36 percent of Americans age 18 to 29 with at least one tattoo...
The survey also found that what your mother may have told you about who has tattoos is true: People who drink, do drugs, have been jailed or forgo religion are more likely to be tattooed.
"Really, nowadays, the people who don't have them are becoming the unique ones," said Chris Keaton, a tattoo artist and president of the Baltimore Tattoo Museum.
Nearly one in four [with piercings] reported medical problems, including skin infections. Among those with mouth or tongue piercings, an equal proportion reported chipped or broken teeth.
Dealing with Pain
Find a reputable tattooist that you feel comfortable with to get the tattoo work done, the confidence you get from a tattooist can minimize your pain to the highest.
Don't show up drunk or on drugs.
Go in with some determination and accept the fact that a few hours of discomfort without giving the tattooist a hard time will help ensure that you get a first-rate tattoo.
If you feel you can't take the pain anymore, tell your tattooist. Take a short break, or come back in a few days. Tattoos don't have to be applied all in one sitting. Break up your session if needed.
Listen to music or let your imagination go wild during the procedure, a certain degree of distraction set by your self will help you put less concentration on the pain.
