Does Tattoo Fade Cream Really Work?

I originally picked tattoo fade cream because I wanted to promote Wrecking Balm or Tattoo B Gone, but the deeper I searched regarding the two, it seemed like maybe tattoo fade creams don't really work and are a waste of time and money.

The websites advertising the tattoo fade cream show the above picture with a before and after. The tattoo is shown in its dark form and then fades away. But after reading forum after forum, I don't think promoting something that doesn't work is a good idea.

Below are some of the forum entries that I found. I've tried to be fair since one did say that it worked for him, but for the one that he said worked, I found ten or more that said tattoo fade cream is worthless.

If you are serious about getting your tattoo removed, I did find a great book that has all your tattoo removal options revealed, even some that you were not aware of.

I Was Considering Tattoo Fade Cream, But Maybe There's Something Better.

Will tattoo fade cream work?

Do you want to use tattoo fade cream to get rid of an old tattoo that has grayed? Or is it the name of an ex that you want to get rid of? Or perhaps you want to start a career in a field that frowns on tattoos? Or maybe you want to get rid of your old tattoo to replace with a new one.

Whatever the reason is, there are many ways to remove tattoos, using a tattoo fade cream is only one option amongst many. But before you go ahead, you should get the facts.

The Tattoo Removal Guide is 130 pages of information covering the pro's and con's of 15 different methods used to remove tattoos, including tattoo fade cream. It covers for each method the cost, pain, success rate, scarring, and what insurance will cover, plus bonus features. Everything you need to know before taking the next step with the removal of your tattoo.

Tattoo Fade Cream Entries At The Purse Forum - "Do Tattoo Fade Creams Work?"

Is tattoo fade cream the right solution?

Here's my first forum discussing tattoo fade cream. I wanted to condense it, but there's a lot of good information in these.

cindy05 - "I have an old tattoo on my ankle that I was thinking about getting rid of. But I am afraid of the pain, scarring and costs associated with laser removal. Has anyone ever tried any tattoo fading creams? I've heard that Tat B Gone and Wrecking Balm are the gold standard but I want to "real" testimonials. I dont know if the reviews are bogus ones set up for those same companies. Thanks!! "

EMMY - "I just had my tatoos re-colored a few months ago...I happened to have seen a commercial for tatoo fading cream the day before and I asked the tat artist about it..point blank...they don't work..laser surgery is the only way and even then it's not 100%..."

ArmCandyLuvr - "I don't see how they would work. Tattoo ink is in the dermis. I doubt any cream applied to the the epidermis has the power to sink in to the dermis and destroy a tattoo. If you don't want laser surgery, have you consider having the tattoo reworked or covered up with a different design?"

sendmeonacruise - "I always hear commercials for "Wrecking Balm" (sp?) but have no personal experience with it. Maybe it's worth researching?"

I Love It!!!!! - "The fade creams don't work, laser is the way to go. Depending on where your tattoo is (and size and colors) that seems to play a big role in how well the laser removal goes. And, yes it does hurt, but it's pretty much like they say, it feels like someone is snapping rubberbands against you."

mattcuk (Tattoo lover) :
"Hi all

Can someone please tell me if they have ever used a cream called Tat B Gone? I needs to fade a large tattoo on the top of my arm so that I can get a new piece.

I've had a couple of laser sessions and found in quite painful on the arm and pocket!!

Cheers"

dickyknee - (Tattoo addict) :
"I didn't try tat b gone but I did a lot of research to find a tattoo removal cream. They are really shady and had a lot of dummy websites from "institutes" on the matter and comparison pages that they set up to make them look legitimate. I would NOT trust that company. If you're still looking for a tattoo removal cream, the one I tried is profade and it worked for me. hope this helped"

sidwilson - (Tattoo lover) :
"First I tried wrecking balm-A waste of time and money. Then being desperate I gambled on tat b gone because I had read some good things. The gamble paid off and the tat on my neck is no more.

I hope this helps someone else."

muchojackdaniels - (Tattoo lover) :

cigarandyak - (Tattoo lover) :

The Yelp Forum Talking About Tattoo Removal And Tatto Fade Cream

Find out what others said about tattoo fade cream.

This forum pertains mainly to Chicago but really had some good information regarding tattoo fade cream and different ways to deal with tattoo removal. Click on the URL at the end to read the whole forum.

Jenny R. says:
"I heard of this stuff called Wrecking Balm on the radio that is supposed to help fade your tattoo away. I have no idea if it works, probably not...but maybe it will fade it some and then you'd have to have less laser treatments? Ask a tattoo artist about it maybe? Good luck!"

Rachel "Knitiot" J. says:
"Thanks Erin B. Removing the sleeve was a treat, but I never cried--just winced alot and got used to smelling my own burning flesh. I could have sent a few people to college with that money instead. I should have........I will have to dig up some photos of the progress......they are gruesome, so I will post a warning if and when I find them. I am available if anyone wants me to talk to thier kids about tattoos. (Insert evil laugh)

*****You need to keep in mind that new tattoos are NOT GOOD for removal. The older the tattoo, the better. Most places will not even try on a tattoo less than 1 year old. ******

Wrecking Balm and other "fade creams" are a waste of money. If you want to buy it, just send the money to someone in need instead. I tried 3 or 4 different ones, so I can say that."

This forum also discussed laser removal. There were some good points like where you go can really affect the price of the treatment. One lady went across town and really got a good deal. It all depends on the doctor.

But also remember each doctor may have different equipment as far as how up to date it is.

Some people were covered by their insurance for their tattoo removal. Others went to a free clinic and had theirs removed.

You can read it at http://www.yelp.com/topic/chicago-tattoo-removal.

But if you really want to know what method is best for you, read Tattoo Removal Guide.
