Lower Back Tattoos
The lower back seems like it's getting kinda trendy right now, but in fact, this area has been really popular for a long time, especially as a location for a woman to be tattooed. The area is easily covered by clothing and offers a large flat area for a bigger piece of art. Women were often tattooed in this spot by the many cultures that regularly practiced tattooing (the Japanese, the Hawaiians, the Tahitians, and the Marquesans).
The idea of a lower back tattoo being a "trampstamp" is just a joke from the movie "The Wedding Crashers" but it set off a trend of perception, much like how a character in the movie "Sideways" remarked about disliking Merlot, and then suddenly Merlot wine sales dropped.

My boyfriend and I want wing tattoos. I want to the left wing and him the right. We also want to incorporate some personal things in our own wing. He is in the Army and wants his airborne wings and the pow symbol, but me on the other hand am a girly girl. I like the beach and have a daughter. We cant seem to come up with a set of wings that will allow us to incorporate these ideas. Do you have any suggestions or should we each go our own way and get completely different wings, but I feel that will defite the reason for the tattoo in the first place. Me here and him in Iraq me the left wing and him the right but when they are together they are a complete pair.

I just started doing tats I hope someday I will be as good as some of the peaple on this sight.......The vrry first I done was a skull for a friend, the a butterfly on his lady friend,the wings are very important their what makes the tat,so my hats off too you.
